Quill & Ink Handmade: April 2012
http://quillandinkhandmade.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 19, 2012. I had a moment with. We were watching the news as a family while eating dinner – which almost never happens in our house because of all the violence and death and bad news that you tend to be bombarded with. But, I’d been a bit out of touch with what was going on in our world, and thought it might be a good idea to play catch up. The kids were talking about bacon and trying to out-sing eachother in nursery rhymes; and a story came on about babies and young children dying in.

Quill & Ink Handmade: December 2011
http://quillandinkhandmade.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 4, 2011. Baking and making the day away. There are definitely Christmas-related smells. Our lovely Aunt and cousin have a yearly baking tradition that we were keen to get involved with; and this morning we smelled and mixed, and measured and tasted our way through Grandma’s boiled fruit cake recipe (laden with rum-soaked fruit, nuts, stewed prunes and piles of zesty peel), and a big batch of sticky, moreish rum balls. Thank goodness for Steph from Mon Petit Poppet. How was your day today?

Quill & Ink Handmade: Grinding the wheels into motion
http://quillandinkhandmade.blogspot.com/2012/08/grinding-wheels-into-motion.html
Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Grinding the wheels into motion. So bad. But a whole lot of fun, too. But, as we start to look into spring and summer markets, the need to be a grown-up again and to search out my currently hibernating motivation increases; and I think the best way to get fired up about the busiest time of the year is to experiment with new ideas, and to start booking in to the loveliest markets in Brisbane (nothing like a deadline to get things moving along, huh? How do you find motivation?

Quill & Ink Handmade: The small dress
http://quillandinkhandmade.blogspot.com/2012/07/small-dress.html
Monday, July 9, 2012. Last week, my mama gave me two little dresses that I used to wear as a girl. They had the customary frills and bows and lace and ruffles, are impossibly cute and very sweetly vintage in appearance. I remember her making them; and I remember the way that the lace hem tickled my legs as I walked. And goodness, didn’t it just light a fire! Do you remember your mother (or father, aunt or grandmother) making clothes for you? She even made me Clydella undies! July 9, 2012 at 4:13 PM.

sunshine time: other April highlights...a month in pictures
http://deborahlee911.blogspot.com/2015/05/other-april-highlightsa-month-in.html
Sunday, May 24, 2015. Other April highlights.a month in pictures. April always starts off with Ruby's birthday. It's one of my favourite months. Not just because of the birthday celebrations, but because it's Easter, school holidays and the weather here on the Coast is usually always close on perfect. This year was no exception. It came and went in a flash. No time for blogging, really. So I'm just diarising it in pictures; highlighting some of my favourite parts. This game of finska. We had two lots of ...

sunshine time: March 2015
http://deborahlee911.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 12, 2015. Last week we lost our dear little guinea pig, Coco. I went out one morning to find her lying on one side, in the heat of the day. When I picked her up it was immediately apparent she was in a sorry way. I guess that's the thing with guinea pigs. They're pretty delicate little critters, and once in a state of decline, it's very hard to pull them back. She came to us pregnant, unknown by us at the time, eventually giving birth to two very large and dead babies. I had to help h...

sunshine time: February 2015
http://deborahlee911.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2015. And that was February. It's the last day of February and we're one-sixth of the way through this year. Summer is at an end and as this day fades quietly away, I am reflecting on the month that was. As of tomorrow, I shall aim to change all that. I plan to slow down, look around and take it easier. I'm leaving you with a photo of PK and I from the wedding. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. And that was February. A little bit country.
