Are we down to three polls in NZ? – Grumpollie
https://grumpollie.wordpress.com/2016/04/02/are-we-down-to-three-polls-in-nz
Ramblings about NZ polls and surveys. 2 April, 2016. Are we down to three polls in NZ? So, DigiPoll has shut up shop, and I haven’t seen a poll out of Fairfax in a long time. Are we down to just three polls now? Newshub, ONE News, and Roy Morgan.). This is not good at all, if true. With less data, it’s harder to develop new methodological and analytical approaches to polling. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Why the polls get things wrong. 24 May, 2016. Some big news, for me. Two pieces of news that are kind of a big deal, for me. Firstly, I’m ditching my landline! I’m not a student and I’m not in a low income band, so make of that what you will. Secondly, after 10 June I will no longer be a pollster. I have resi...30 April, 2016.
About – Grumpollie
https://grumpollie.wordpress.com/about
Ramblings about NZ polls and surveys. I use this blog to store my thoughts about polls and surveys, and I re-post interesting things I find online. I occasionally send links to clients and other people who may be interested. I think best with a pen or a keyboard – writing helps me organise my thoughts and form my opinions. As my thinking evolves, I may end up contradicting myself or changing my mind about things. I think faster than I can type, so expect the odd typo or three. Politically I’m left ...

Ramblings about NZ polls and surveys. 24 May, 2016. Some big news, for me. Two pieces of news that are kind of a big deal, for me. Firstly, I’m ditching my landline! I’m not a student and I’m not in a low income band, so make of that what you will. Secondly, after 10 June I will no longer be a pollster. I have resigned from my current role to take up a position at a government agency. I’m really excited about it. I think this has two implications for my blog:. Opinions on Māori issues, Georgism, Politics and Law. NZ Pol and Econ Bloggers. In his recent post,. Too quick to take the credit? Morgan Godfery argues that it was a crass move by the Māori Party to put out a statement taking credit for the $790 million hardship package included in this years Budget. His key argument was that there were others who shifted political thinking such as Matua Hone Harawira with his. Feed the Kids Bill. Secondly, I completely agree that Harawira has been an outstanding advoca...

A blog about Politics, Law and General Goodness. Rachel Glucina and journalistic ethics (or the lack thereof). As everyone knows, John Key yesterday became an international laughing stock thanks to his penchant for stroking or yanking women’s ponytails. The blog that yesterday outed the issue. Kept the waitress’s name secret – her account of John Key’s actions at the cafe where she worked was anonymous. Turns out it didn’t take long for her name to hit the headlines. A blog about Politics, Law and General Goodness. Shayne Currie and the mystery of the ever-changing statement. In my previous post. I quoted the statement posted online by Shayne Currie,. Editor, in response to questions as to Rachel Glucina’s ethics. It’s a statement that was initially posted, disappeared, and was then re-posted. Blog, via Twitter:. Journalist hat. Currie seems to accept that Glucina, at the very least, was more than a little unclear about what her role was to be. 8220;By then [or By ea...
On popularity | The Dim-Post
https://dimpost.wordpress.com/2014/04/02/on-popularity
April 2, 2014. 8212; danylmc @ 8:38 pm. Simon Wilson at Metro writes. It’s a political truism that when you’re up you’re up, so none of your stumbles knock you off your feet. And when you’re down, every little misstep takes you closer to your grave. Prime Minister John Key is so up, he’s dancing on air. How did this happen? It has been clear for at least five years now that when Key is mocked, a large part of the electorate reads the very existence of the ridicule as further evidence that he is the right...

The Grumpologist
All sorts of stuff that makes me grumpy. Tuesday, 1 October 2013. Politicians – solving yesterday’s problems today. So we will get a plastic bag tax? Wow, big deal! So why do we suddenly now require a plastic bag tax? As is all too frequently the case our politicians see a problem late then come up with a solution which we have to pay for and which will make things worse, in this case by failing to promote biodegradability and causing people to adopt more environmentally costly and damaging solutions.

Sun, May. 4th, 2008, 04:07 pm. I haven't posted anything in awhile. So I thought I would just show off the mad awesomeness of my new camera. I didn't want to get too close to these because quite frankly I don't want my eyes pecked out. But I got this shot from pretty far away and it's ridiculously cute. Sun, Dec. 2nd, 2007, 03:48 pm.
