Land’s End is the starting or finishing place for many a crazy feat of endurance, cyclists, runners, walkers, stilt walkers, and more, but I can’t imagine that any other departure from the end of the country will pull as much attention as the Olympic Torch on Saturday 19th May. It arrives from Greece on the 18th, but apparently not burning. But I guess it saves some poor soul have to run a couple of thousand miles to get it to us.

You'll have plenty of space with a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area, and two generous bedrooms (one king size, and one twin). New Forge will offer pretty much all you need for an excellent self catering holiday by the seaside. The cottage has good wi-fi broadband coverage, and a DVD in the second bedroom in case not everyone wants to watch the same thing. New Forge was recently completely rebuilt to create a comfortable and spacious modern two bedroom cottage that's now available for self catering holidays by the sea. It's great for beach holidays, especially as it's wonderfully close to the surf beach of Gwenver, and has the whole of West Cornwall on the doorstep. Downstairs is a generous size light twin bedroom that also doubles as a quiet place to read and offers space for the children to play. Our first guests had this to say:.

Tregiffian is only three miles from the rugged beauty of Land's End, and is a short walk to the lovely surfing beaches of Sennen and Gwenver. All who make the journey this far west agree that it's worth any effort. The simple, beautiful beach of Gwenver is a ten minute walk, or the wide expanse of Sennen beach is more like twenty minutes. Both are great surf destinations, and great for family beach days. And there's a Co-operative and Post Office with cash machine.
