Get Lost...: Environment
http://guysread.typepad.com/getlost/environment
The documented adventures of a group of wacky travellers exploring their world! February 07, 2008. Into the (Bright) Danish Night! Ive got to tell you that when I first went to Denmark with the Center for International Understanding, I was a bit ticked. You see, the agenda that they had set for us was full from the crack of dawn until the crack of dusk. . 0160; Instead of stumbling around in the dark for hours after getting out of our sessions, I had at least 4 or 5 good hours of daylight to explore.
Get Lost...: Movement

The documented adventures of a group of wacky travellers exploring their world! June 23, 2009. Travelling in the EU. . . One of the main advantages of living in a country that is a European Union. Member nation is the ability to travel easily across borders. Considering how close European countries are to one another, crossing borders without having to stop to have your passport checked is a pretty big deal! This policy of invisible borders is called Schengen. 0160; Dont believe me? Can you think of oth...

Get Lost...: What's in a Name?
http://guysread.typepad.com/getlost/2007/09/whats-in-a-name.html
The documented adventures of a group of wacky travellers exploring their world! September 15, 2007. What's in a Name? What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, he was suggesting that names were unimportant, right? Call a rose a pig and it will still be just as beautiful? Well, that's a message the Danes never received! Now, why was that naming absolutely brilliant? Sounds like an inviting destination for a vessel carrying a load of goods, doesn't it? On September...
Get Lost...: The Danish Resistance Movement. . .
http://guysread.typepad.com/getlost/2009/06/the-danish-resistance-movement-.html
The documented adventures of a group of wacky travellers exploring their world! June 23, 2009. The Danish Resistance Movement. . . Like many of its neighbors, Denmark was occupied by Nazi Germany. During World War II. What made Denmark unusual, though, is that Germany- -hoping to show the world that they werent bullies trying to conquer all of Europe- -allowed the Danes to keep their own elected government and their own police force for a long while. . Working with fisherman to smuggle Jews out of Denma...

Mister K Reads: Wilder Boys - by Brandon Wallace
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2015/08/wilder-boys-by-brandon-wallace.html
Favorite Books and Authors. August 6, 2015. Wilder Boys - by Brandon Wallace. Two boys and a dog, escaping into the wilderness on a special quest, running toward an unknown dream, and away from a scary man. This is an excellent story of hope and survival, of using wits to overcome a terrible situation, and of friendship and family. This book is fast-paced, full of interesting characters, and deadly serious at the same time that it is full of hope and adventure. I highly recommend it! Some Good Book Sites.
Mister K Reads: We Were Liars - by E. Lockhart
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2014/09/we-were-liars-by-e-lockhart.html
Favorite Books and Authors. September 29, 2014. We Were Liars - by E. Lockhart. This is not a book to be taken lightly. It is a book for teens, and I would say age 12 would be a good time to read it. That said, it was an amazing and surprising story that I could not put down. The "teen" rating reflects some thematic elements that elementary-age children just don't need to think about. Grab a copy of this for the teen in your life, and let them know it will be one knockout of a story. Some Good Book Sites.
Mister K Reads: Space Case - by Stuart Gibbs
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2015/07/space-case-by-stuart-gibbs.html
Favorite Books and Authors. July 27, 2015. Space Case - by Stuart Gibbs. Stuart Gibbs is an amazing writer, and this may be his best book yet! Things get MUCH more exciting, though, when Dash witnesses a murder! This is a compelling mystery, a realistic sci-fi look at our future in space, and a very interesting story about a brave young man who's trying to do the right thing. Read it! Mister K Reads: Tuesdays at the Castle - by Jessica Day George
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2015/06/tuesdays-at-castle-by-jessica-day-george.html
Favorite Books and Authors. June 12, 2015. Tuesdays at the Castle - by Jessica Day George. Castle Glower is not your ordinary castle, and Celie is not your ordinary princess! This 11-year-old has the interesting habit of mapping the castle, which is made all the more difficult by the fact that each Tuesday, the magical castle changes its layout! A new hallway here, new rooms there, you never know what a Tuesday will bring. Labels: 4* (Very Good). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Some Good Book Sites.
Mister K Reads: House of Robots - by James Patterson
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2015/07/house-of-robots-by-james-patterson.html
Favorite Books and Authors. July 24, 2015. House of Robots - by James Patterson. Imagine that you're the fifth-grade son of a famous robot inventor mother, and one day she asks you to bring her newest invention to school with you. Two problems: You are the second-most unpopular kid in your class (after your best-friend Trip), and the invention is a walking, talking nerdy robot that you are sure will ruin your life forever! Mister K Reads: The Fourteenth Goldfish - by Jennifer L. Holm
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-fourteenth-goldfish-by-jennifer-l.html
Favorite Books and Authors. June 11, 2015. The Fourteenth Goldfish - by Jennifer L. Holm. It really has nothing to do with goldfish, FYI. This is actually the story of 11-year-old Ellie, a girl with serious boy problems, but they're not what you'd expect. As she navigates the new waters of middle school and shifting friendships, Ellie also meets a new boy, Melvin, who seems suspiciously similar to her cranky old grandfather. Labels: 4* (Very Good). Mister K Reads: Liar and Spy - by Rebecca Stead
http://misterkreads.blogspot.com/2014/11/liar-and-spy-by-rebecca-stead.html
Favorite Books and Authors. November 8, 2014. Liar and Spy - by Rebecca Stead. This book has a few twists and turns, so let's call it a mystery. What it really is, though, is a story about some lonely kids in the city who somehow get connected, and through their friendship find ways to deal with the problems in their lives. Sounds boring, but it's not. It's a book that will make you think. This book has nothing to do with Stead's previous bestseller, When You Reach Me. Labels: 4* (Very Good). Even Mr....
