http://jade-of-kamakura.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Written by a handmade artist/mom/zakka botique owner in Japan. Friday, March 19, 2010. I went to the biggest post office in Tokyo (near Tokyo Station) the other day and I bought these stamps. The Japan Post issue various kinds of stamps and it took me long time to decide which ones to buy. One is the cute Hello Kitty, and the other is manga "Kitaro". These are real postal stamps, not toys. So cool! Links to this post. Sunday, March 14, 2010. What a sweet idea, isn't it? Have a sweet day to you, too!

Sew in love: weaving lesson
http://jade-of-kamakura.blogspot.com/2010/05/weaving-lesson.html
Written by a handmade artist/mom/zakka botique owner in Japan. Monday, May 24, 2010. Last Saturday, my daughter and I joined weaving lesson presented by my friend artist. This is my second time to try and it was the first time for my daughter. It's a simple method using your own hand and a weaving needle, there's no machine or complicated stuffs. It's quite easy to draw stripes, but it's kinda hard to make the arrow line. I managed to do it but will need to spend more time co make it better.

Thursday, August 23, 2012. Frustration, Fluster-Busters and Little Successes! Yesterday was just one of those days. I had grand ideas floating around in my head and they looked oh-so-good. Then I tried to create them. And they looked oh-so-ehhh. Here are my go-to Fluster-Busters:. Keep doing what I'm doing (because sooner or later I learn something, either what to do or what not to do). Do something else to give my mind a break. Go for a walk, do some yardwork, etc. Then I wanted to post a pic of the cro...

Monday, June 20, 2011. Sugar Skull masks - Dia de los Muertos - Day of the Dead. Sugar Skull mini masks. Sugar Skull masks - group 1. The mold I used had 3 different skulls on it which worked out great, since I ended up doing 3 groups (some people may not be able to finish for whatever reason, and I had been on a list in case they needed someone to fill in for a group or two). I first saw the candy molds in Taos, NM, but was able to get these in Colorado Springs from La Fuente Imports. Dia de los muertos.

Saturday, October 27, 2012. Polymer Clay Journal Cover Swap. Awhile back I signed up for a Polymer Clay Journal Cover Swap over at the Polymer Clay Swaps. Although we had both asked each other about favorite colors, themes, etc., we basically let our creativity take over knowing that we'd each be happy with what we received. Here is the beautifully detailed journal that Pat sent me:. I love all the detail in her canework and texture! What a lovely combination of purples and blues. Thanks, Pat!

I am a creative, 40-something soul who loves all arts and crafts, currently living in the hills of Colorado with my wonderful husband and outdoor critters. You don't want to stop, you don't want to sleep. You just want to keep at it! There are so many new things to learn in the art and craft world, and I really don't want to limit myself to just one. I love getting inspiration from my surroundings and experiences. It really is fun to get excited about making things and being creative. A Work In Progress.

Monday, January 28, 2013. Fairy Door in polymer clay - by Jainnie Jenkins. In December, the Polymer Clay Swaps group did a Fairy Door Swap. Fairy Doors are supposed to be portals that fairies come through when you're not looking (how cute is that? I was paired with a lovely woman named Sherryl. You can view my door, above, with a tree growing around it, and you can view hers below, with all of the precious details. Did you notice the heart-shaped stepping stones? Fairy Door by Sherryl R.
