http://myreadinglife.blogspot.com/2014/07/i-am-having-so-much-fun-here-without.html
My Reading Life - Linda Lackey. Thursday, July 24, 2014. I am Having So Much Fun Here Without You by Courtney Maum. A funny title for a just-plain-fun in the sun summer read. When I started reading this light hearted romantic comedy, I wasn’t sure I would finish it. Richard, an English artist, has cheated on his perfect French lawyer wife. He has sold the only painting that has the power to keep them together. I didn’t see myself developing sympathy for either of them. And then the book got funny! In Oct...

http://myreadinglife.blogspot.com/2014/08/california-by-edan-lepucki.html
My Reading Life - Linda Lackey. Saturday, August 30, 2014. California by Edan Lepucki. Edan Lepucki’s California made its way to my radar when Stephen Colbert urged viewers to buy it amidst his Amazon vs. Hachette rant. Apparently, California was recommended to Colbert by one of my long time favorite author, Sherman Alexie. So the late night plug was something to take seriously. A bit of research about the author turned up the information that Edan Lepucki. Now we were on a mission! Finally, a week or so...

Develop.ment +256: Samsung Launches the Galaxy Note in Style
http://mysuggestionis.blogspot.com/2012/01/samsung-launches-galaxy-note-in-style.html
Uganda, Advertising, Development, Health, Communication, and Geopolitics. Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Samsung Launches the Galaxy Note in Style. It could have been set anywhere in the world, the Kampala Serena poolside and of course the Silk Events lighting always make any function one to relish. As we watched the minister for ICT Hon. Nyombi Thembo unveiled a work such as my years in tech-dom have not allowed me to encounter. Anyway, they served us nice treats (as if the Serena can do any less), and then...

Sipi River Lodge: February 2010
http://sipiriverlodge.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 6, 2010. This week we went for a drive to visit the Nyero. Rock Paintings. They're about an hour and a half away from Sipi. On the road from Mbale. The area is amazing - rocks and boulders litter the earth - red aloe plants cling to the rock and tucked away amongst all this are three sites of ancient rock art. This Aloe grows all over the place and gets huge! Had been here and found human remains as well as other artifacts which they took away to be analysed. They are still waiting...

Sipi River Lodge: Mountain Biking in Uganda, at Sipi Falls...
http://sipiriverlodge.blogspot.com/2010/12/mountain-biking-in-uganda-at-sipi-falls.html
Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Mountain Biking in Uganda, at Sipi Falls. Over the last year we've been exploring the hills and valleys around Sipi on our mountain bikes. What we've found has been incredible. Accessible from the main road there are almost endless spurs of land that reach out over the plains below. Almost all of these have great single track downhill routes. We've found a couple of rides that are our favourites - and they're awesome! Some of the mountain biking here is fast - you want to ma...

My Reading Life - Linda Lackey: Etta and Otto and Russell and James by Emma Hooper
http://myreadinglife.blogspot.com/2015/06/etta-and-otto-and-russell-and-james-by.html
My Reading Life - Linda Lackey. Monday, June 01, 2015. Etta and Otto and Russell and James by Emma Hooper. Eighty-three year old Etta is full of life, but she has never seen the ocean! This novel is all story, and as many of my favorite story tellers do, Hooper paints her landscape with the broad brush of magical realism. I loved Etta and her feisty determination. This novel is quirky and engaging. Want to escape this summer? Hike along with Etta and James. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
