Hardly the Last Word. I just wouldn’t be able to make it. My Tragic Lesson Plan →. January 26, 2009 · 6:00 pm. In Praise of Small-Town Post Offices. I think that the Heidegger podcast saved me from the grumpiness that I could hear over the lecture around me. Yes, I’m listening to a Berkeley course on Heidegger’s. As I read through it with Michial Farmer. It’s quite nice. Still the man wandered. An employee opened a second register to handle us as quickly as possible. I was in and out, despite having ...

But you haven’t been around that long, cynic. There is nothing new under the sun. But you haven’t seen nearly as much, traditionalist. There is nothing new under the sun. I saw nobody coming, so I went instead. Building a One-Piece Stratocaster Neck (Part 8). I got the neck finished up this weekend, and have been enjoying playing it for the last couple of hours. In the last installment of this project, I will cover the finishing basics. For the neck’s finish, I use a nitrocellulose lacquer. There are quite a few different formulas, and having tried most of them, I like Behlen’s Qualalacq. Here is a shot after the amber coat:. Once the whole neck has been sanded to 2000-gr...

I saw nobody coming, so I went instead. Building a One-Piece Stratocaster Neck (Part 7). Part seven picks up with the frets having been installed and the excess clipped off. There is one more treatment for the fret ends, but this will wait until after the final sanding has been done. Once the slot has been rough cut, I clean it up with the edge of a file. I use a bone nut blank. Then I glue the nut with Duco cement, and clamp. I use the neck holder that I use during fretting to clamp on both sides. This ...

Thinking Out Faith: October 2008

http://thinkingoutfaith.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Incidental Writings on Books, Ideas, Theology and Culture. Sunday, October 05, 2008. Benedictine Obedience Defined: Obedience Part II. In my previous post I attempted to give enough of a positive picture of obedience to at least get the idea a hearing. To continue recussitating the idea of obedience - to try to get it up on its own two feet so we can get it doing some real work - we need to flesh out a bit more of a definition. Grammatically the word is an intensification of the root word. Where authorit...

The Ruah of God: Spiritual Apathy...

http://theruahofgod.blogspot.com/2009/01/spiritual-apathy.html

Thursday, January 15, 2009. In the course of life, all human beings face issues that challenge them to the very core. I often ask myself what does it mean to be human, and what does it mean to be a Christian. For me, to be fully human means to live out my faith to its full potential each moment of each and every single day. I know sometimes I get that itch to check when I should be doing other things. I personally do not think so. Yet it does not stop them. Chaplain Jeremy L. Evans. 01/03 - 01/10 (1).

Incidental Writings on Books, Ideas, Theology and Culture. Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Benedictine Authority Defined: Authority Part II. This is the second of a multi-installment 'series' on the idea of authority, both in general and as it relates specifically to theology and the Church. Call it, if you will, an attempt at conceptual rehabilitation. Eric Dean, a lay monastic associate writes that:. Posted by Kevin Spoelma. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
