Monday, February 21, 2011. We purchased this china hutch last week at an antique store. We're not sure if we are going to stain it or paint it. I'll guess we'll figure that out as we go. Stay tuned! Friday, February 4, 2011. White Christmas (at least in North Carolina) with the Barnettes. Mandy's Grandmother as we were passing out gifts. She must have been good this year. :). Sunday, June 19, 2011. Since the summer heat has been upon us 100% (what happened to spring? Well done H&H Products and Hartley's Lemonade! We celebrated Memorial Day by having my sister Beth and her family over for the day. We smoked some ribs and broke out the slip n slide. We had a great time and Tate got to experience one of the classic summertime events of the slip n slide for the first time. He also discovered he really likes ice cream cones! Sam is under there somewhere! Sam in action again.

Thursday, January 20, 2011. Sew Proud of Myself! I made these drapes right before Christmas. Nothing like hosting Christmas Eve dinner for 11 people to finally motivate me to get it done. I was nervous to even try making these because I had only used my sewing machine 3 times before, but I think they turned out great! And they are even lined (with a blind hem stitch I might add)! We are a few weeks post Lent, and I have a few thoughts/observations/lessons learned after observing my first:. 1) Truly pray about what you are to sacrifice. Any measure of self used in the decision will NOT bode well for you, and God will reveal your pride. 3) I still battle legalism, and Lent brought what was dormant to the surface. 5) Observing "Western" Lent (aka taking Sundays off) can make Mondays seem like you are starting all over again.
