A safe place to talk about the hard stuff. A hard post: part I by Ida Mae. A few days ago, I introduced you to my new friend, Ida Mae. Perhaps you took the time to meet her. She amazes me …. to have gone through her own personal hell for much of her life and still have the grace to want to help others. Wow. Ida Mae has given me permission to re-post her any of her blogs. This is part I of her blogs on the subject of marital rape. Tough reading ahead. Sex is the elephant in the room. The biggie no one...

Redemption Comes Out Today. I’m honored to be the co-author of Stacey Lannert’s memoir, called. Which comes out today. Today happens to be International Women’s Day. A most excellent time to promote awareness about child sexual abuse. I met Stacey in 2002 when I wrote about her for. Magazine. She was still in prison then. When she was released in 2009, I was lucky that she still had my phone number and thought to call me. The rest was synergy. Your email address will not be published.

Anna’s story | Morven's Blog
https://morvensblog.wordpress.com/2014/01/13/annas-story
A safe place to talk about the hard stuff. We held our mutual breaths as we watched last night, sick to our stomachs, knowing that our beloved Anna was going to be hurt, terribly hurt, by a man to whom she had been nothing but kind and welcoming. And she was, brutally raped and discarded. Shamed. Unable to speak the truth because of her need to protect her husband, fearful of what he would do to her offender, knowing he would be taken from her if he defended her honor, she was silent. A safe place to talk about the hard stuff. Every statistic has a name and a dear, dear face. Those of you who read my blog know that I counsel victims of domestic violence. Unless you have walked this road, you have no right – repeat, no right – to criticize or comment negatively in any way. You have no idea the journey these dear ones have taken, or how hard it is to get off this road. Well, one of my dear friends has made it! This entry was posted on November 4, 2013, in Domestic violence. Bring the ch...

A safe place to talk about the hard stuff. My heart is full of gratitude this Thanksgiving. Morning. Gratitude for healthy family – parents who loved me unconditionally, a devoted and caring spouse, sweet and kind adult children and delightful little honeybuns who call me “Nana.” I have a warm home, a job and plenty of food on the table to share with friends. These bikers stand out because of their soft spot: innocent victims of child abuse. The girl chewing on her lip was abused by a relative, according...
