30 Year Student of Tai Chi. Instructor Fred Willette began studying Tai Chi in 1980. He studied with three Masters of Tai Chi, all students of Professor Cheng: Maggie Newman, Herman Kauz, and William C.C. Chen. Fred believes his teachers have acquired their skill through dedication and hard work. Through all of them runs the golden thread of Professor Cheng’s teaching. Fred is dedicated to passing down what he has been able to learn from each of them. Principle instructor at HeartMind school of Tai Chi.

The Tai Chi solo form we teach is Professor Cheng’s 37 posture form, as it was handed down from Professor’s students. During class we explore the five main principles. Of the Tai Chi form – what they mean and how to follow them. We learn to do all 5 principles simultaneously and try to use consciousness, not strength, to navigate through the form.
