The UK’s first. Friday, 6 May 2011. Dave Young becomes the first Labour councillor to represent Hebden Bridge on Calderdale for over ten years with over 50% more votes than his nearest rival. A bad election for local Independent candidates. 21 year old Wesley Downs is elected to Hebden Royd Town Council as one of the youngest councillors. Labour gain 3 councillors on Calderdale and Conservatives gain 2. Remains in no overall control. The Lib-Lab coalition is likely to continue. Hebden Royd Town Council.
