How are visitor moorings marked? All Visitor moorings are coloured green - either the large main buoy or the small pickup buoy. Is there enough depth for a 2 meter keel? Yes all Visitor moorings have sufficient depth. Can we raft up together with a few friends? Yes, if the vessels are under 25' 3 or 4 may raft together. Larger vessels should restrict themselves to 2 sharing a mooring. If the wind is above force 5 the moorings should be used singly. Do we have to raft in busy periods?

For payment of Mooring Fees please contact the Mooring Officer either afloat or at the Mooring Office situated on the North side of the river by the Ferry Boat Inn. The Mooring Office is open daily between 0900 - 1700 hrs. Contact details are here. A six knot speed limit applies to the west of the narrows, and to the north of the main river. In the interests of all boat users please keep to these limits. You may also use the ferry landing stage at Helford Point to embark or disembark but tenders must not.

Visitor rental moorings are available between April 1st and October 31st, on a nightly basis. Location of Visitor Moorings in Helford River. Located broadly to the south of the river, and in a rectangular block to the west of the narrows. All visitor moorings are identified by either a green pick up, or green main buoy. Boat Hire and Ferry on the Helford River. Getting on the Water. How to find us. Inshore moorings are available, for boats without keels up to 19ft, either daily, weekly or for the whole season. Boats up to 25ft may be accommodated if moorings are available; however please contact HRB.
