A well placed bed. We’ve had the most amazing weather this year. Summer started in April! Which means that the kids are playing long days in the backyard, and I’m able to spend more time in a “supporting role”. (Where I’m nearby for emotional support but not necessarily running the show.). I’m queen over my dominion. (Likening your house to a castle, makes being home way more fun.) What am I doing being so obviously uncomfortable when I have a whole house of comforts to do what I want with? June 24, 2015.

I’m writing from our little apartment on the Rue du Champs de Mars. It’s a small white room with a large old window perched atop 5 flights of tightly curled dilapidated stairs. It’s raining, which is wonderful because today has been a beautiful sunny day, and I need a good excuse to sit on my bed and let my feet rest. When it comes to walking around cities, Kent is like a prize race horse, and I am a flat footed goose. But we walked all over 3 districts today, and this goose is cooked. Just look at Paris!

Bubbles in May – hellogreyday

Sometimes the day is sunny, the kids are having a ball together, and everything just feels right. When that happens I suggest you take 500 pictures, because for better or worse, moments like that are as fragile as bubbles in May…. Sure enough, pop! Which was a miracle I wasn’t expecting. But isn’t that just the way? I’m so glad I took these pictures. If I hadn’t, I’d only remember the stitches, not the happy moments before. I’m pretty sure there’s a lesson in there somewhere.
