A Swedish blogger who inspired my love for fika. With my love for food and buildings with history, it is a wonder why I have not visited Penang. I think the fear of getting heat stroke from the hot weather and eating too much street food is deterring me from going. ;) Penang, through the eyes of a travelling photographers duo from Seattle. herethereaneverywhere | Whatever catches my fancy at this moment, or the next
Whatever catches my fancy at this moment, or the next. There are so many places I want to see and visit before I die. And while I feel fortunate that I’ve already been to a number of them (Angkor Wat, Acropolis, and Westminster, to name a few) I haven’t even got close to all of the places I want to see. Perhaps this urge to suddenly travel and explore is just an inner desire to escape from finals (Ugh! And tell me you wouldn’t want to spend some days just lying around out there. But a man can dream.

See You Soon. | Can miles truly separate you from friends? If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?
Can miles truly separate you from friends? If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there? May 22, 2011. It’s not where you are…. Corny, but so true. Every day I sit and look at the person sitting beside me and I realize how truly blessed I am. And then the two little snorty faces at my feet? 8221; followed by dogs pouncing around the room. I said to James the other night “did you ever think we’d be here? That only makes it that much sweeter. March 9, 2011. February 26, 2011. I’v...

Here There Be Dragons
Here There Be Dragons. Thursday, February 23, 2012. I have recently begun to think that crickets, like wizards, have death curses. How else do you explain how a child who used to pull the legs off crickets and toss them into spider webs could become so terrified of insects she screams at the sight of them? And if that wasn't enough to convince you, consider my recent adventure with the feeder crickets for my dragon:. Will the crickets arrive dead? Will they have parasites? If you are looking to order cri...

Wanderings and Wonderings – on wheels and heels
On wheels and heels. My wife and I belong to the National Trust and some holidays are spent walking around the houses and gardens. Cleaning the library at Anglesey House. Most of the houses and stately homes have a library. The shelves holding the books stretch wall to wall and floor to ceiling. And if No then off it went. It is glorious that the original owners of the house were great bibliophiles, or have made use of the services of a professional book-handler as described by Flann O’Brien. I would lik...
