I have worked on houses in the South-west and Wales, with Limestone, Bath stone and Costwold, as well as some lovely sandstones in and around the Wye valley for many different kinds of walling to houses and walled garden projects. The stonework inbetween these 2 1st floor windows was repointed using the same lime putty mortar mix to show the stonework in a sympathetic manner, not to make the mortar obvious but subtlely enhancing the stone. Included in this was the area for the 3 stage water filtration plant, including one section, the first which was over 9 feet deep. This housed the vortex particle seperator.

12 foot Barn door set; fractured right spine, rotten planking and 85% structural failure. However, all original ironwork was saved, cleaned and re-used. Barn door set refurbished including much of the spine of each door and around 45% of the original frames: replanked with new inset door access. New ledged and braced access door to refurbished barn set. This door had previously been poorly repaired as just whatever was rotten at the time was replaced.

From the beginning of this work to the end, including details of initial problem of collapse of existing septic tank and system failure through sewage back-up (drainfield failure) as well hydrocloric acid build up through poor building practice by installers leading to this presented failure of the system. Basically, the concrete surrounding the onion septic tank had corroded due to acid build up within the system along with drainfield failure.

I made a temporary repair to both sides of this 'A' frame as it had been only partially repaired before and was still moving along with the walls as they are responding to the pressures from the stone clad roof, and subsidence of the soil combined in different directions. Recent rains also added to the problem. Refurbished barn doors with new inset doorway. This pair are 12 feet high and 6 feet wide each. Their hinges are the original Victorian ones and polished up just as good as new.
