Not much about not much. July 15, 2006. Hmmmm Well my last couple of posts have been a bit negative. But my jaded view has been lifted slightly by a very kind 65 year old dentist! On hearing I was English he started telling a tale about an Englishman who had helped the Japanese a long time ago and how he would like to repay some of that kindness. This consisted of a free Xray, local Japanese rates for drugs/treatment and a lively examination. I have no idea what incident he was talking about. July 5, 2006.

Well, I've been in the "OC" for just over a month now and I must say it has gone by fairly quickly - the weekdays drag but the weekends more than make up for it. Although you would think I'd be over any amusement caused by "Engrish" and taking into account that the translation isn't too bad, the menu at our little tapas restaurant caused no end of amusement with a dish titled:. Not much about not much. April 13, 2007. So another week has flown by. We 'did' a little hanami. Last weekend. Korakuen. Was the main venue and despite a little rain we had a pleasant picnic on the grass with some yaki-soba and chu-hais. There were a number of wedding photo sessions taking place - I felt a little voyeuristic hovering behind the real photographer but I fired off a few shots as I wasn't the only one spying. It is packed with goodies and we have gourged ourselves on a diet of disposable USTV.

It was a sad day, but a really beautiful one- and those two overtones really make you wish for some company. And i can't stand it, it feels like shackles. I'm a rock, I'm a mountain, but I think I'm a silly one. The moral of the story is that I'm getting pretty sweet on Yukie, although I can think of about a thousand reasons not to be.

Monday, January 30, 2006. I decided to go and find the milk, and whilst pondering over what the differences were between all of the milks I sensed a shop assistant standing next to me and was waiting for the sudden outburst. Surprisingly this shop assistant said "may I help you? As I was turning my head and responding with "no thank you" at the same time, he'd walked off. Now, I thought that was quite weird and stood there for a bit thinking he was going to turn around but he disappeared down an aisle.
