As you may be able to see from the above picture, this machine is using lini-stepper controllers c/w 80 oz-in stepper motors. The lini-stepper controllers are available from James Newton through the PIC List. These controllers waste a fair amount of power in the controller, especially when using higher supply voltages. With that in mind, we are now using a Hobby CNC controller (microstepping / chopper drive) available from. The CNC control for the Milling table is performed by MACH3 software from ARTSOFT.
