Land's End to John O'Groats walk by Martin Hockey

http://hockeylejog.co.uk/index.htm

Martin Hockey's End to End Walk. Land's End to John O'Groats. What do you do if you leave work and want a new challenge, you like walking and have always been curious to see more of the country? Put that way, the answer is obvious. The whole journey took me 82 days, including 6 rest days. The signposts at each end put the distance at 874 miles, but that's by road, and who wants to walk by road? By my calculations I clocked up 1,306 miles. What do you need? LEJOG walk: thanks

http://hockeylejog.co.uk/thanks.htm

Martin Hockey's End to End Walk: Land's End to John O'Groats. You cannot do a walk from one end of the country to the other without a great deal of help from others. My thanks to. Lester, Jeff, Chris, Ricey, Sue, Tim, Catherine and Clare for companionship on the Pennine Way. David from Thurso who carried my bag across the Cairngorms. My colleagues at Grant Thornton for moral support. My wife's cousin Jill and the doctor on call at Middleton in Teesdale for medical advice freely given.

Walk to the Top. Land's End to Bath. Inverness to John O'Groat's. Planning Tips and Links to Other Web Sites. So many questions; where to begin? Like everything in life, we will probably all go about planning the project in different ways. Here is how we did, modified a little with some hindsight. Start big and sketchy and gradually work in the detail of each aspect e.g.:. When can we do it? How long can we take? Do we carry a tent or stay in B&B's? What is our purpose? Gives a very earthy but hilarious ...
