Apple Cider Pressing - The Homegrown Gourmet

http://www.homegrowngourmet.org/apple-cider-pressing

Incubating and Hatching Eggs. October 10, 2014. My good friends (and former neighbors. Have an old cider press and a big apple orchard, and during the fall they often invite friends who also have a lot of apples over when they’ve got the press out. A few weekends ago, my sister. And I grabbed a couple of boxes of apples from the big old tree in the front yard and headed over for the afternoon. Tradition at the farm is to mix all the different types of apples (and crabapples too! This time, the cows left ...

runner ducks Archives - The Homegrown Gourmet

http://www.homegrowngourmet.org/tag/runner-ducks

Incubating and Hatching Eggs. Tag Archives: Runner Ducks. July 5, 2015. Things are going swimmingly well with our duck incubation. Out of 7 eggs that made it to lockdown. We now have 6 happy, healthy ducklings making a mess in the brooder. I love them already. That’s a pretty fantastic hatch rate, especially considering it’s my first time hatching ducks (in a styrofoam incubator, in a dry climate). And I’m not giving up on egg #7 yet! And that’s not all. Just after the first pip? July 3, 2015. We also ha...

That’s a pretty fantastic hatch rate, especially considering it’s my first time hatching ducks (in a styrofoam incubator, in a dry climate). And I’m not giving up on egg #7 yet! And that’s not all. Remember those orphaned eggs from my good friend that we added to the incubator.

My first flock - The Homegrown Gourmet

http://www.homegrowngourmet.org/my-first-flock

Incubating and Hatching Eggs. April 1, 2013. Three years ago this week, my sister and I brought home 14 new companions: Day-old chicks from the local feed store. And so I began my life as a chicken keeper. And that is how Colonel Sanders joined our flock. Colonel Sanders and his hens: Szechuan, Piccata, Kung Pao, Lemon Pepper, Cutlet, Saltimbocca, Parmesan, Tandoori, Cacciatore, Beercan, and Tender. Colonel Sanders, ready for a fight. (pictured with Beercan, a Speckled Sussex hen). Every pet sitter that ...

Me and D: This Is Real

http://www.meanddblog.com/2014/10/i-wrote-this-last-night.html

Tuesday, October 14, 2014. I wrote this last night. About 10pm. With absolutely no intention of posting it. But today, I took another look at what I'd written. It's real. It's what happened. And I try to be honest on this blog. So here it is. This is real. This is what it's like to live with disordered eating and diabetes. This is real. This is what it's like sometimes. Today has been a better day. If you ever feel this way, please know you are not alone. And it's ok to seek help. Kerri [the PWoD :)].

http://lucidrealmsdotcom.blogspot.com/2013/04/cook-club-week-15.html

When promulgating your mental ponderosities. Don't use big words. Thursday, April 18, 2013. Cook Club: Week 15. No new recipes this week, but we did eat at a new restaurant. I've been wanting to go to Paisano's. Next to the Chipotle for a while, but any time we're over there, we're always on our way to Chipotle. That is a little confusing being one letter off from the more expensive San Antonio restaurant chain. Chianti and Italian food = happiness. Sat Apr 20, 09:44:00 AM CDT. View my complete profile.

Homegrown Graces -

June 4, 2014. We’re Eric and Meghan. In the last five years, we’ve lived in Slovakia, Peru, North Carolina, Minnesota and California. Life has been an adventure to say the least, but lately we’ve realized that it's time for us to grow some roots. This blog chronicles the story of the new home we're claiming in New Hampshire and how we're learning to let grace grow wild right where we're planted. Theme by Theme4Press • Powered by WordPress.
