Home in the country. Sometimes I can be a disaster in the kitchen. I attribute it to my inability to follow directions. There is hope. I’ve {successfully} made these recipes, and so can you! Banana chocolate chip muffins. I like to substitute 2 c whole wheat flour for 2 c white flour). I use chicken instead. Chicken cashew veggie stir fry. Salsa chicken and black bean soup. Uses a crockpot. which, in my opinion, might be the best invention ever made.). Thai ground pork salad. Another fun crockpot recipe!
Pumpkin Picking | home in the country
https://homeinthecountry.wordpress.com/2015/01/25/pumpkin-picking-2
Home in the country. January 25, 2015. And here we are talking about October in mid-January. Progress. Our annual pumpkin hunt/photo shoot (because, again, it’s at least 90% about picture taking) occurred on a sunny and mostly warmish (for October in Michigan) day. It’s tricky to get both kids actually looking and smiling at the camera, so there’s about 456 million pictures from this day. I won’t publish all of them.🙂. Ireland! part 3 | home in the country
https://homeinthecountry.wordpress.com/2009/09/17/ireland-part-3
Home in the country. September 17, 2009. It rained a lot on day 3. Unfortunately, rain wind = no trip to the Skelligs. I was bummed, but we decided that this would be a good reason to come back to Ireland again soon. So we headed from Portmagee to Kenmare, stopping at the Staigue Ring Fort. It was pouring rain at this point, and we both got soaked. We ate lunch and shopped in Kenmare. After lunch, we again ventured into the rain – this time, we walked to a monolithic stone circle. Sorry, stone age man!
natural wood blocks | home in the country

Home in the country. August 3, 2010. A few months ago, our nephew turned 3. We wanted to get him something super-cool, something he could build with. And that’s when his mom suggested we make natural wood blocks from tree branches instead. I have to admit: having never looked into things like Waldorf teaching methods. I was a little like,. Umm, you want me to get your kid sticks for his birthday? Is this a punishment? Like coal for Christmas? Step 1 — Cut. Step 2 — Dry. Lay your cut branches out on tinfo...

Rambling Rose: Oh baby! (Part 2 of the story)
http://heatherirenep.blogspot.com/2013/05/oh-baby-part-2-of-story.html
Musings of crazy red-head. Thursday, May 23, 2013. Part 2 of the story). As soon as I got home from IL, I called the doctor and set up an appt. They told me that I needed to wait until I was at least 7 weeks, which put us at the week of Thanksgiving by the time they were able to fit us into the doctor’s schedule. I had to wait a whole month? 8217; But that’s not a peanut, that’s a baby! I’d say you’re more like 12 weeks along! Heather Irene @ Rambling Rose. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

January 17, 2011. We were off to the Rose Bowl in the fog! The next morning after breakfast at the hotel Lee took us on a tour of the Los Angeles area. We saw Hollywood, Mullhulland Drive, Sunset Boulavard and many big beautiful homes in Beverly Hills where the “stars” live. Then we went to Venice Beach to see the wierdos. Miles and miles of them! Wierd Hair-dos, wierd clothes–wierd, wierd and more wierd! He let me take a real close-up! After about a half hour he finally came with his van full! As you al...

Driftless Home and Gardens: November 2012

Driftless Home and Gardens. 2012 Alaska Highway Trip. Thursday, November 29, 2012. A Little of This and a Little of That. In between posting I have been working on crossing things off my winter preparation list. Changing out the wooden screen to storm windows. Cleaning out gutters after the white pine sheds all it pine needles. Every year in the first half of October my White Pines have anywhere from a third of its needles turn yellow and fall off the tree and clog my gutters. The reason I cover my unit.

Driftless Home and Gardens. 2012 Alaska Highway Trip. Monday, May 27, 2013. Stewart-Cassiar Hwy North of Bell II to Rancheria Lodge on the Alaska Hwy. A bridge crossing just north of Bell II. Bear Scat: It was hard not to step in it. There were so many piles. A black bear eating dandelions north of Gnat Pass Summit. This is my favorite picture from the whole trip. I spent. 40 to 60 minutes sitting in the car taking pictures hoping for a shot like this. Loons on Kinaskan Lake. Naskan Lake Provincial Park.

Home in the country. Catch Up #2: January, February, March 2015. July 30, 2015. We celebrated Christmas again after returning from New Jersey. Jason made the girls an amazing boat rocker/stair and stage combo (like this. In case you were wondering, the dogs are still doing well… the kids love them and they certainly don’t mind the attention. And they DO get presents at Christmas – new beds and bones – despite never getting air time on the blog.). Luckily, my winter class was amazing — such great st...
