Schedule | Homeschooling One

https://homeschoolingone.wordpress.com/schedule

This is still very much a work in progress, but here goes. By the time school is done, we are good and hungry, so it’s lunch time. We usually heat up leftovers or I make turkey hummus sandwiches or something simple. We have an extracurricular activity one afternoon a week, and Fridays we alternate between American Heritage Girls and co-op. Co-op takes the place of one History or Science class that week. Foreign Language Teaching Tips, Part 3. Feeling intimidated about teaching your kids a foreign language at home? In this 3-part series, I offer you ideas on how to make language learning fun and effective, even if you’re not fluent yourself. 8 Find a community of people to speak with. Week 13 Nitty Gritty | Homeschooling One

https://homeschoolingone.wordpress.com/2011/11/16/week-13-nitty-gritty

Week 13 Nitty Gritty. We are now on Week 13 of school, Week 7 of Tapestry of Grace. I haven’t given an update in a long time, but fortunately, that has been because we’ve been busy with…school (and other things). Let me try to catch you up:. We finally ordered and received Math U See Beta. Making up worksheets or finding them on the Internet was just too tedious and not directed enough for my comfort, although Mustard Seed was doing quite well with multiple-digit addition. I think I already told you about.

Reading List | Homeschooling One

https://homeschoolingone.wordpress.com/reading-list

Below is a very incomplete and haphazardly assembled list of books we read, mostly over our kindergarten year, but a few in the year before that. Most of what’s listed are story books or novels, though I’ve included a few of the books we used for science and math as well. Thank you for being patient while I get the authors listed! Another Celebrated Dancing Bear. Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel. Little House on the Prairie. Little House in the Big Woods. On the Banks of Plum Creek. The Story of Ping.

A Country Girl's Ramblings

Saturday, November 19, 2016. Ginger became part of our family last March when Joel, in his words was, "Trying to push up the bid to help bring in more money for our local Pheasants Forever group." Mmmm-hmmmm. So, on the very night that I had informed my children that when Ellie, our chocolate lab, passed on we would not be getting another dog, we came home with another. Links to this post.
