I am 25 years old. I’m a single mother of two little girls. I first came into foster care when I was 13 years old. I was put in to foster because I was raised by my father all my life, never really knew my mother. I was living with my grandmother halfway through elementary school. My father was never really around and I never had anyone to talk to, my grandmother was very strict at times. I never really had a childhood because of it. PHOTO CREDIT: NICOLE MUNCHEL. My name is Raquel and I was in foster care for 4 years before aging out in April of 2013 and I’m a single mother of a 1 year old girl. My name is Raquel and I was in foster care for 4 years before aging out in April of 2013 and I’m a single mother of a 1 year old girl. After aging out of foster care I struggled with taking care of my daughter and even myself, and I ended up renting a 1 bedroom apartment that I couldn’t keep because I didn’t have any money and I barely had a job. We appreciate your support.
