The Adventures of Greg, Amy, Alyssa, and Jackson Howe. February 12, 2010. Starting late Wednesday night, the snow began to fall. It didn't stop until the wee hours of this morning! It's being reported that we got 11" up here in Frisco! The kids and I had a blast playing in the snow yesterday after school. We built a not-so-sturdy family of snowmen (they fell down within an hour of us making them - whoops! And the kids threw snowballs while I snapped pictures and laughed hysterically! Once we arrived in the city of Baalbek, we passed by the huge Blue and Gold Mosque below. Just beyond the mosque, we (joined by Johnny, Aura and Bliss) arrived at the Baalbek ruins and found ourselves practically alone and able to freely roam around. The highest peak in Lebanon (Qurnat as Sawda at 3,088m) can be seen through one of the temple openings below. The expanse of the entire complex of the Heliopolis (Temple of the Sun) including the Temples of Jupiter, Bacchus, Mercury, and Venus is incredible.
