Our summer in England. Monday, August 13, 2012. Waiting for the train. Walking down the pier. I've taken tons of photos of Big Ben this summer, but this one, taken from the river, is my favorite. The royal family on the side of a building along the river. It was a beautiful day, and this was a perfect way to see the city. We disembarked at the Tower of London, braced for long lines. But where was everybody? A Yeoman Warder at the entry gate. The moat is now a grassy lawn where they hold plays and concerts.

And converting quantities from mass (grams) to volume (ounces or cups) is a pain. Our summer in England. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Food, Part I. Enjoying my salad and a pint. We finished up with a delicious sticky toffee pudding. The produce always lists its country of origin, and for foods from Great Britain, the county is often listed as well. I even saw some British strawberries that listed the farmer's name.
