In the name of Good Clean Fun. A few years ago, after surviving breast cancer, I used my skills as a librarian to research and develop my own handcrafted soaps as part of my effort to avoid several chemicals present in commercial products. I invited a very scientific, creative friend out to my back porch where we gossiped, made soap, and dreamed up the name of Howling Hog. My family loved the soap. In the name of Good Clean Fun. MORE ABOUT HOWLING HOG SOAP. Store soap in a well drained dish. So it doesn't get soggy. I keep several soaps in my shower, preferring a peppermint combination soap in mornings, a lavender if showering in the evenings, a eucalyptus for its natural insect repellant qualities if I'm going to be picking blackberries or hiking, etc. Chemicals might be hormone interrupters and cause allergic reactions ( Source 2).
