help emergency: ID Field Reset
http://helpemergency.blogspot.com/2012/03/id-field-reset.html
Friday, March 30, 2012. This morning I made a change to two tables in my live system. All I did was add a new column in each called 'suspense' with a data type of bit and a default value of '0'. When the users started using the system they noticed that the record ID numbers had reset and were starting from 1 and going up 2, 3, 4 etc. The last good id number was about 20500. The id columns are set as primary key with identity and increment of 1. This shouldn't happen should it? Is it a bug? IAM page (0:0)...

Sql Ignoring spaces: Impact on replication when a server goes into standby mode
http://ignoringspaces.blogspot.com/2012/03/impact-on-replication-when-server-goes.html
Friday, March 30, 2012. Impact on replication when a server goes into standby mode. We have the following scenario:. Server A replicates Database A to Server B. Server C has Database A on it as well, but in standby mode. We are applying the transaction logs generated by Database A on Server A to the database on Server C leaving it in standby mode each time. When I start to use Server C, can I backup its transactions and apply them to Server A, and then have those transactions replicated to Server B?

Identity column: If Not Exists?
http://identitycolumn.blogspot.com/2012/03/if-not-exists_30.html
Friday, March 30, 2012. Curious about the above:. If there is a query that says. If not exists(select * from table). Versus one that says. If not exists(select * from table with(NoLOCK). Is the second statement more correct than the first (considering that there. May be hundreds of hits to that table in a very short space of time -. Possible 100's per second)? Or is the second statement truly no different than the first as the. Statement would discover that the record had a count 0 and thus validate.
