Thoughts from time to time. Where are our children? May 23, 2010. In response to a post on Aim High Salmon Arm, a couple of people raised the point that young people are leaving Salmon Arm after high school and have not returned by the age of 30. I have no hard data, but that is my observation as well, although I think the picture is quite different by age 40. The point was made that there are insufficient jobs in fields such as manufacturing to provide good incomes and keep our children at home. Salmon ...

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Penticton Invitational Swim Meet 2015. Sarah doing the turn in 100 IM. This weekend we headed down to Penticton for this year's swim meet. Trev and Maureen also met up with us to see the kids swim. Maureen wasn't able to get down to meet us until Saturday night, due to a showing at the Winchester Gallery. In Victoria opening this weekend. The kids all did great! Sam ended up with the bronze aggregate, and Max put in some great best times, taking up to 13 seconds off in one case!

Sunday, July 19, 2015. Salmon Arm Swim Meet 2015! This weekend was the local swim meet in Salmon Arm. Since our club hosts this one the meet starts on Friday night, getting the pool ready, and ends Sunday night with a dinner after take-down. The kids did great, although Max got poked in the eye (accidentally) by someone grabbing their hat, and he ended up with a really painful scratch on his cornea.
