My journey to and through a double lung transplant with Scleroderma. Tuesday, March 26, 2013. It's Spring, My A#&. I apologize for being delinquent on my posts. I'm OK, we are OK, nothing bad has happened, I've just been really busy. Not even today, but I've decided I owe it to my audience to let them know I am still here. And apparently it's Spring now.really? We had 5" of snow Sunday night, and are in the middle of a Winter Storm Warning right now! Isn't it beautiful out? Where I have been posting pict...

http://lettersfrompittsburgh.blogspot.com/2014/01/its-been-while-but-im-alive.html
My journey to and through a double lung transplant with Scleroderma. Sunday, January 12, 2014. It's been a while, but I'm Alive! Sorry it's been so long since I've written. As you can imagine, a lot has happened, and it's taken me a while to wrap my head around it. But I am happy to report that I did get my new lungs, and while it was the hardest thing I have ever done, I am here, I am alive, and I am living! More later, I promise. Thank you for being there with me on this journey, beautiful people!

My journey to and through a double lung transplant with Scleroderma. Thursday, February 28, 2013. I am really touched by all the interest and feedback I am getting about the blog. Thank You! And yes, unfortunately, there is a big difference between a regular, or teacher, etc. BCBS policy and one through the federal government. It is a shame. Isn't that cool, that I can just email my doctor? So anyway, what preceded the statement about me having her email was a comment about how she had heard about this f...

Letters From Pittsburgh: May 2013
http://lettersfrompittsburgh.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
My journey to and through a double lung transplant with Scleroderma. Saturday, May 11, 2013. This is one of those blogs that might not be for everyone. Out of respect for my family members who read this, know that it is about my Mother. I vehemently said no. And then I never mentioned it again, well until much later on when she was diagnosed with Scleroderma. It was a terrible time, and apparently the doctors were arguing about what had actually happened to her. They all thought heart attack, but the...

http://lettersfrompittsburgh.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
My journey to and through a double lung transplant with Scleroderma. Friday, April 26, 2013. At the O.R. Door: Part Deux. Dr de Andrade, my pulmonologist at UAB, was the first person to utter the word transplant to me. 8220;I said you need to start thinking about a lung transplant, Lorene”. When I saw Dr. de Andrade again, a couple of months and many more web searches and articles read later, he asked if I had given any thought to a lung transplant. I was angry and befuddled. I started my transplant eval...
