Internet vs. Across the Board - Illingworth Chess CoachingImprovement with passion

http://www.illingworthchess.com/internet-vs-across-the-board.html

Internet vs. Across the Board. Internet coaching and across-the-board coaching are equally good, just different. Internet coaching is unjustly maligned - it is normal to be doubtful of something new or unfamiliar, but I coach over the internet as well as face-to-face and my internet lessons have been no less successful in improving their chess than my across-the-board students. Advantages of Internet Coaching. Wider choice of coaches (especially useful for those in rural areas). Easier to observe student...

http://www.illingworthchess.com/tournament-results.html

Internet vs. Across the Board. My biggest achievements are winning the Australian Championship and two GM round robins. At the closing ceremony of the 2013 Malaysian Open. I won the 2014. In Springvale, Victoria with a score of 8/11 , and finished in equal second place in the 2015 Australian Open. Scoring above all the Australian participants. You may have read already that I have two GM norms - I achieved them both in the same tournament! Locally, my best results are winning the recent 2014 Hjorth Open.

My Articles - Illingworth Chess CoachingImprovement with passion

Internet vs. Across the Board. I talked about some of my articles under 'The Writer'; here I will just list the links. Note: In some cases you will have to pay for the periodical to read my article(s). Generally speaking, the higher up the list the articles are, the higher your rating needs to be to considerably benefit from them. Also, I won't mention articles before they have been published. ChessPublishing 1.d4 d5. The Master's Bulletin November 2013. Sydney Academy of Chess Blog.

My Writing - Illingworth Chess CoachingImprovement with passion

http://www.illingworthchess.com/my-writing.html

Internet vs. Across the Board. I write a range of articles, from advice to club players to game analysis to theoretical surveys! I'll list my writing specifically under 'My Articles', but for now I'll mention the main periodicals I have authored articles for:. New In Chess - I've authored opening surveys for their Yearbook, and one of them is mentioned on the cover of the Yearbook to the left - on 4.Bd6 in the Rossolimo. That was a first for me! I am a regular contributor to 50 Moves Magazine, a new Aust...

My Chess Coaching - Illingworth Chess CoachingImprovement with passion

Internet vs. Across the Board. I analyse your games, fix your weaknesses, and show you how to use and raise your strengths. If you're passionate about chess and determined to improve, I'm the best coach for you! Here's what I do in my first coaching lesson:. Analyse your games concisely and precisely. Melbourne Games Coach: Arbiting

http://melbournegamescoach.blogspot.com/p/arbiting.html

The blog of a Melbourne games coach, covering primarily chess and poker. This page will be used to keep a record of the various chess events that I have acted as an arbiter for. I will endeavour to update this page periodically as required, with details of various events I have run to be included here as well (or at least links to the details). Prior to moving to Melbourne in 2005, I had been an arbiter at a variety of events for the NSWJCL. Primarily the various holiday events held throughout the year.

The blog of a Melbourne games coach, covering primarily chess and poker. Monday, 20 July 2015. Guam International Open Part Two. Just past the midway point of the tournament and as expected, the tournament has turned into a race for third, with Grandmasters Laylo and Torre beating up any challengers, while their own game was a hard fought draw, where neither players held any big advantage during the game before finally ending in an opposite coloured bishop endgame. Away from the chess, there was a BBQ St...

Melbourne Games Coach: Victorian Chess Festival

http://melbournegamescoach.blogspot.com/p/victorian-chess-festival.html

The blog of a Melbourne games coach, covering primarily chess and poker. This page will contain the 'fleshing out' of the ideas presented previously in the Chess Festival Plan. Page, with ideas about how a chess festival could work in practice. Essentially the idea is based on the fact that there is so much chess, or. Be so much chess, in Victoria from November to January. Essentially I see that there are four distinct types of events run during this period, which are the basis for the chess festival idea.

The blog of a Melbourne games coach, covering primarily chess and poker. Below is a plan I have for a new idea in Australian Chess . the Victorian Chess Festival. Yes, its rather long, rather involved and will not be to everyone's taste . but try to stick with it if you can . The starting point can be seen in the Australian Open Ideas.
