Pork on your fork: Japan
http://porkonyourfork.blogspot.com/2009/09/japan.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. There are few wonders in the world, at least in my humble experience, which compare to the splendour of the Japanese Alps. There are also few cultures in the world with such universal and uncompromising attention to detail as the Japanes. E one, whose deeply entrenched punctiliousness made it an economic giant and a nonpareil within the artistic and gastronomic circles. A recipe to warm the cockles of you soul on a cold winter's day. 1kg beef shin, diced. 2 rashers of bacon.

Pork on your fork: My Banana Dilemma
http://porkonyourfork.blogspot.com/2009/03/my-banana-dilemma.html
Sunday, March 29, 2009. My husband has a banana fetish. That is not to say he enjoys prancing around the house in spiked heels and lipstick with a musa acuminata. Down his lace stockings. Or that he likes me doing that. Nathan loves buying bananas. Lots of them; more than we ever manage to consume before they invariably turn into a horrible, black rotting pile in our fruit bowl. It used to drive ME bananas. WHY do we have to buy the entire bunch? You'll only have 1 before they all go bad.". Cream sifted ...

Pork on your fork: What I think about when I think about Death
http://porkonyourfork.blogspot.com/2010/01/right-ive-got-few-random-thoughts-today.html
Friday, January 15, 2010. What I think about when I think about Death. Right, I've got a few random thoughts today, so I'll. Allow them free reign to resolve themselves in print. First off, it would have been my dad's 55th birthday today, so "Happy Birthday, Pops"! I hope they're throwing you a big party up there. (or maybe what's celebrated in the afterlife is the day of your death. who knows.). Death I can never understand why journalists. Feel a need to "make sense" of. In a very honest and profound m...

Pork on your fork: Duck Tales
http://porkonyourfork.blogspot.com/2009/10/duck-tales.html
Wednesday, October 14, 2009. This very morning, after a concerted search effort, I finally set upon a pair of succulent, shapely duck marylands at the Fox Studios EQ markets. 6 hours on, following a series of marinating, frying, casseroling and more boiling, frying and stirring, Nath and I sat at the dinner table, moisture gathering in our eyes. I turned to him, fork poised in midair, and uttered with some reverence, "this pappardelle is truly a thing of beauty.". Neil Perry's Duck Ragu Pappardelle.

Pork on your fork: Languid Labour
http://porkonyourfork.blogspot.com/2009/10/languid-labour.html
Sunday, October 4, 2009. But there were hungry mouths to feed, namely my sister's and mine, so here's a really easy dish you can throw together on those lazy long weekends. Nathan, meanwhile, continues to languish in bed with a ferocious headache, and the occasional theatrical moan of a man who's had one beer too many. Daphne’s Chorizo and Lentil Soup. 1 large chicken breast. 2 chicken stock cubes (500 ml chicken stock). 1 large onion (chopped). 1 clove garlic (diced). 1 stick celery, chopped. Easy Cream...

Pork on your fork: Bugger It!
http://porkonyourfork.blogspot.com/2010/01/bugger-it.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. I promised myself that today would be dedicated to writing my new story. Recently (make that the last 2 months), I've been dragging my feet, blaming the festivities, heat, entertaining and what have you. Anyway, I swore there would be no blogging either, since some of you are probably quite sick of my rants and recipes. However, we're being besieged by blowflies and mosquitoes, so I am compelled to share this misery with someone who is not my husband. What is it about flies?
