The students learn the fundamentals and technical practice of vacuum technology necessary for research in physics and related areas. The course is given at the MSc/junior PhD student level. It is assumed the students have basic knowledge of the theory of gases. The course consists of: (a) 8 2 hour lectures, (b) 8 1 hour instructor-lead tutorials, (c) 8 student exercises, (d) a study visit (1 day) to the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI) in Korat.
