In my third year of university I was elected as Activities Vice President for the Students’ Union. Essentially this means I got a temporary, full time job for the year doing something I love, and a load of valuable experience to set me up for a career afterward. Was it the lure of getting drunk on ‘free money’ for 3 years running? Or was it the notion of breaking free from the control of the parents?
