Ironmom

Thursday, November 29, 2012. IMAZ, Anything is possible! In July I thought my racing for the year was done. Heck, I thought I may never be able to run again, ever. I was walking down the stairs at a swim meet and felt like I was shot in the back of the leg with 1000 rubber bands all at the same time! Ironman Arizona is my most favorite race. It feels local, as it is such a short flight and I know the area so well. The volunteers are truly amazing, and the spectators are rowdy and supportive! All in all i...

Ironmom: Boulder 70.3

http://ironmom141.blogspot.com/2011/08/boulder-703.html

Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Where o' where has the summer gone? I think that I blinked and the summer flew by. I love having my kids at home and we had so much fun, but I have work to do! So off to school they go! How will I manage without them you ask? What will I possibly do with all my free time? Well I will tell you one thing, you can find me here:. Going into this weekend was a huge training block, a big build toward Kona. I love recovery rides! Congrats to all that competed on Sunday, way to go!

Ironmom: Texas time!

http://ironmom141.blogspot.com/2011/04/texas-time.html

Thursday, April 14, 2011. The first race of the season is now in the books! So Texas 70.3 in Galveston was the easiest to get to and did not interfere with my daughter's swim meets. Fast forward 3 months and what does a triathlete who has little training under her for the year do? That's right a two week vacation on the beach! Once I got back from Hawaii I had ten days to train for Galveston, no worries! We also figured out that we had left the majority of our race nutrition at home! Lindsay and James Co...

Ironmom: Baby steps and Hope

http://ironmom141.blogspot.com/2010/09/baby-steps-and-hope.html

Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Baby steps and Hope. I can't control my training partner either. Kathleen was feeling like I was getting all the attention with my bad Achilles so she decided to break her foot! So here we both gimp along to swim practice, perfecting the one leg push off the wall and learning to love pulling! I have hope she will be back at it soon and just as I am ramping up my running she will be able to spin on a mountain bike and back to being my Sherpa! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Ironmom: Kona ....

http://ironmom141.blogspot.com/2011/10/kona.html

Sunday, October 16, 2011. I was going to call this a race report but there was really no racing coming from me. From puking to poop to blisters and lost toe nails I pretty much covered it! Race Morning: I woke up way too early with something telling me things were not right. I had really bad diarrhea. And was not feeling well. Trust me this was not pre. Race nerves, this was bad! Bike: Oh how things can go from great to horrible to worse in 40 miles. But this is Kona. And I was not about to give up!

Ironmom: Boise 70.3...err 29.3

http://ironmom141.blogspot.com/2012/06/boise-703err-293.html

Monday, June 11, 2012. Boise 70.3.err 29.3. I have not been good about posting! I am no longer walking around in a gluten covered fog. I have energy for workouts and my mom life! Fast forward to this weekend. We made a quick stop at Sierra Trading post and picked up a few windproof and waterproof jackets to use on the bike. I seriously debated not getting on my bike. Who the heck can ride a bike, downhill in the rain, without functioning hands? I figured our age group would have a good number of slots fo...

ARY Adventures: Run Like a Girl!

http://aryadventures.blogspot.com/2009/05/run-like-girl.html

Monday, May 11, 2009. Run Like a Girl! Based on how my girl friends are doing in races this spring - that is a huge compliment. Way to go girls, you rock! First of all, my awesome friend Cindy had a great race at the Boston Marathon. She shaved off about 15 minutes from her Boston debut in 2007. Congratulations Cindy! You inspire me and I love running with ya day in and day out in the 'hood! Despite waiting near the finish line for over an hour, I missed Cindy in the sea of runners and did not get a fini...

ARY Adventures: Family Visit

http://aryadventures.blogspot.com/2010/04/family-visit.html

Tuesday, April 6, 2010. We just had an exciting visit from my brother Jim, his wife Amy and my nieces Emily and Erin last week during their spring break. We love showing off beautiful Colorado and all the fun stuff here. We have a list off things we usually do with visitors, but this time we all tried something new - SKYDIVING! The entire flight crew (minus Brian the photographer - personally. I think he was too chicken to fly, ha ha! Then, we were off to Glenwood. To relax in the Hotsprings.

Thursday, August 12, 2010. The first item on Olivia's "to do" list for the summer was to climb her 1st 14'er (mountain over 14,000 feet) with Brian, a daddy daughter only trip. They decided to climb Mt. Democrat near Breckenridge. Here they are at the summit:. Brian said she was a real trooper and did not complain much, although she was highly disappointed when she found out their was not a snack bar that sold fudge on the top, like Pikes Peak! Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Whew, the race is over and it was a great day! Don't know if I'll be back next year, but I've learned to never say never. Now off to hobble back home and relax with the kiddo's and Brian, my ultimate fans and support crew:) Thanks guys! Tuesday, April 6, 2010. OK - I must admit it was indoor skydiving, but it was just as exhilarating, without the terror that I imagine goes along with jumping out of a moving plane at altitude. Here we are in action. Then, we were off to Glenwood.

Wednesday, December 14, 2011. 8220;Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth, receive her King…”. Merry Christmas friends and family! This theme seemed appropriate as we reflected on the joys and blessings in our lives this year and our gratefulness that we were able to experience a bit more of our amazing world during our family adventures. So, it was great to run with her again in London! If your plans include travel near Colorado, please let us know, we love visitors! Terri Brian, Olivia and Jack.

ARY Adventures: Merry Christmas!

http://aryadventures.blogspot.com/2009/12/merry-christmas.html

Wednesday, December 16, 2009. We hope that this year has been a joyful one for you and your family, filled with laughter and love. Seems like if you have those, facing the challenges of these times is a bit easier. She continues to do well as a 4 th. Grader at a local, public charter school that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math. Big changes for Jack this year - he started first grade and is going to school ALL DAY for the first time! Did I mention ALL DAY? Fe, alone, for a long-weeken...

Things that are awesome because I said so, that's why. Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Reading over the above paragraph, I feel like I’m describing a rather severe problem, but solving it would definitely require getting rid of one or more clients, and I’m not willing to do that. I feel fairly certain that everything will quiet down eventually—my work has always been feast or famine—but it certainly hasn’t happened yet in 2018. PS I feel like I should resolve the burning mystery. Hooray, I am not going insane!

Whenever we start a budget I always get really excited about what we will be able to do, once said “goal” is made! How do we do this, my official reply would be, because we try to be faithful! Where does the extra come from? Working harder and more! I often think of the “Parable of the Talents” Matthew 25:14-30 …. His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!

IRONMOM

My Ironman Journey and beyond. Sunday, February 17, 2013. I'm excited and a bit nervous to train for this Ironman using Crossfit Edurance. 18 weeks aways starting tomorrow and still working on base training. I do plan on hiring a coach for extra guidance and especially expertise in running form with Valerie Hunt. I'll also heavily depend on my CF coach(s) and extended CF family for more training support. I began this Monday getting reaquainted with the bike and the water! More to come…. Links to this post.
