Project 2 | Time Based Communications
https://saarahdesign.wordpress.com/2014/03/03/project-2
I wanted to explore and experiment with audio and how we perceive it. The idea I kept coming back to was of combining the visuals of my parrot with human sounds. Because parrots understand and learn the basics of human language, I thought it would be interesting to visually give them complete control over the language. As the week went on, I thought that maybe the idea was too simple–and decided to add the reverse happening as well–a human stuck without the ability to speak. 04132014 at 8:32 pm. Fill in ...

Reflections on Project 1 | Time Based Communications
https://saarahdesign.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/reflections-on-project-1
Reflections on Project 1. We got some great helpful “compliment sandwich” crits yesterday. Mostly, the sound and lack of closeups was a problem, and the shaky-ish camera. Also, too many jump-cuts. For our self evaluation, here’s what Erika and I came up with:. Put second camera on a tripod. Or get a shoulder rig. Check camera quality/aspect ratio beforehand. Should have chosen two cameras that were similar quality/size. Check if audio is recording! Maybe dig a bit deeper, get more inspirational quotes.

Project 3: The Key (final) | Time Based Communications
https://saarahdesign.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/project-3-the-key-final
Project 3: The Key (final). While our story went through many changes, I think the end result is really well put together. The editing, the cuts, the angles and types of shots we got are all really good. What a difference from our technical problem-ridden project 1! Overall, I’m pretty proud of this project, and it has definitely taught me about film, thinking in a time-based manner, and group work. 🙂.
