Heart Shaped: The Full Monty
http://diane-heartshaped.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-full-monty.html
Sunday, 17 May 2015. Last week I visited The Lyceum theatre in Sheffield to watch the brilliant "Full Monty" , the play of the marvellous film that was written about the demise of the steelworks in our own city of Sheffield in the 1980's (thanks to Mrs Thatcher! I have a knot in my stomach and a tear in my eye when Gerald strides out to "work" ever morning as he can't bring himself to tell his wife. These times seem so long ago now but the effects still can be seen in this wonderful city of ours. From sh...

http://diane-heartshaped.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-arrival-of-spring.html
Tuesday, 4 August 2015. The Arrival Of Spring. On Sunday we were in Saltaire and took a peep at the fantastic exhibition of David Hockney paintings entitled "The Arrival of Spring" which is on show in Salts Mill. I urge you to catch this exhibition if you can - it's stunning. The mill is an amazing building and makes a stunning gallery for work of this scale. There are so many on display - the scale of the work is astounding. Tuesday, August 04, 2015. Theyre stunning, nothing like a good art exhibit.

History with its flickering lamp stumbles along the trail of the past…. Exploring West Norwood’s magnificent Greek Necropolis. The word “necropolis” is incredibly evocative – it is somehow a far more atmospheric term for a burial ground than “graveyard” or “cemetery.” The word derives from the Ancient Greek term. Saturday, 21 February 2015. Emily Sutton's Town and Country. One of the most precious things that blogging has brought me has been the friendship of Lyn from Everyday Life. We don't live near each other, but we live near enough to meet up often and share our interests (of which there are many! I wish I could draw and paint. It was a privilege to see Emily's sketch pads - so very interesting. We all loved her embroidered birds - so many of them! Which has an interesting visual display accompanied by music...

Tuesday, 31 March 2015. The Monsal Trail - end to end. On Saturday, our walking group walked the Monsal Trail in Derbyshire from end to end. A minibus deposited us at Cheedale for the start of our walk. The views and landscapes all way along the trail are very spectacular - both natural landscapes and relics from a heavy industrial past. The railway line was once the main Manchester to London line. As you can see, at the start of our walk, the weather was a tad inclement! As usual, our walk ended up in a...

Sunday, 21 June 2015. With feathers all stubby and brown. We took a walk around the lake at Clumber Park with the walking group last week - followed by a BBQ.
