Brilliant title to go here: October 2010
http://whatreyoureading.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. Open for interpretation: from Laurence to Lawrence. I've been doing more "fun" reading this week - like taking a night off to re-read Margaret Laurence's The Diviners. And standing in line at Starbucks today reading The Guardian. I brought few novels with me to London, but I had to bring one Laurence. I love The Diviners. Tell Pique all she knows of Lazarus, or of Christie, for that matter? How will the tales change in the telling? Links to this post.

Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. I was thinking today that Ann-Marie MacDonald is really due to write another book, right? It's been forever - forever! The Way The Crow Flies. But some Googling yields this novel,. Which appears to have been released two years ago. Has anyone read it? How did it slip past my radar? It appears, as well, to be a reworking of MacDonald's earlier play,. However, I am writing to you today on behalf of a different MacDonald play,. I think we all know the ...

Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. And the tactile enjoyment of turning pages? And, admittedly, the look of a full-to-overflowing bookshelf. Am I right or am I being pretentious and a little silly about emerging technology? For the image: h/t Bookshelf blog. Links to this post. So, having wrapped up posting to another blog. And finally having had some time to sit down and read! I thought it was time to come back here. If you'll have me? Or Couldry's position on "effective voice,".

Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. Things that are pretty. I currently live in a country that has never seen a modern comfort it couldn't wrinkle its nose at. And so, I'm really missing central heating this week as London enters a "deep freeze" (highs of 2C) that makes for vaguely chilly days outside but seriously freaking cold evenings inside. What does this have to do with books? Other book news. on the weekend I went to Greenwich Market. Bound to be a good read, if One Day. If the...

Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. Have you read David Nicholls's One Day. I raved about it last fall. And so as always I approach the release of a film based on the novel with both suspicion and excitement. Perhaps a titch more excitement given Nicholls penned the script, but then a titch more suspicion when I hear Anne Hathaway's British accent. (Even if hers is better than my attempts to sound like Eliza Doolittle-meets Cher Lloyd-meets a Dickensian-era newspaper boy.). I'm hesita...

Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. Has anyone noticed how much blatant cheese has found its way onto prime time. And I'm not talking about Glee ( eee. Rather, tonight Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Was on. And I maybe sort of got pulled in. Pulled into a movie that stars the Bee Gees, and the only speaking part belongs to George Burns. I also watched Some Kind of Wonderful. Even though my heart totally melted on this closing line: "You look good wearing my future."). Asks you...

Brilliant title to go here: summer reads
http://whatreyoureading.blogspot.com/2011/06/summer-reads.html
Brilliant title to go here. All about books since 2007. So, having wrapped up posting to another blog. And finally having had some time to sit down and read! I thought it was time to come back here. If you'll have me? Although done most of my school work for the year, I'm still researching and only now just starting to write bits of my dissertation. But not only do I promise this space will not become a meditation on Barthes's take on mythology. Or Couldry's position on "effective voice,". Originally pub...
