Day 10 to 14 – Where’s all the air? – thewhitespots
https://thewhitespots.wordpress.com/2015/10/12/day-10-to-14-wheres-all-the-air
October 12, 2015. October 12, 2015. Day 10 to 14 Where’s all the air? After 4 nights and 3 days in Nazca, I finally left to go up into the mountains, to reach Cusco. I had taken the time to recover, which was very necessary as about 13.000m positive altitude difference were laying in front of me. The drive to Puquio was quite long, about 130km, and we weren’t progressing quickly. Too many turns, the steep slope and the added weight were slowing us down to a speed of in between 20 and 30km/h. A little bit...

September 30, 2015. October 12, 2015. Day 2 to 5 – The desert. Did I tell you that I hate dogs? I ended up to staying two nights at Berly’s, to give some rest to my legs. Berly is a very nice Peruvian guy. I got a room just for myself, with Wi-Fi access, and we went to get some food. Also, his family was very nice, I had quite long chats with them. Suddenly, I felt bad for those dogs. During the night, there was the moon eclipse, of course. For those that couldn’t see it, here are my pictures:. Tomorrow,...

February 3, 2016. Days 105 to 108 To Argentina! Finally I’m on the road again! What a nice feeling, it’s been way too long. Thanks to fellow travelers and my friends, I had been able pass the low mood of the last weeks. I had taken the bus from Santiago to Villarica, which leaves me with an easy distance to Ushuaia for the almost 3 months that are left. So back on the road, and no need to worry anymore! The next morning, we took the boat to cross the lake, and after another 11km we reached the border to ...

October 21, 2015. Day 14 to 19 Cusco and Machu Picchu. When I arrived in Cusco, I didn’t have an accommodation yet. Warmshowers and Couchsurfing seem to be pretty hard there, too many tourist are around to visit the Inca capital and nearby Machu Picchu. Actually, tourists are all around and Cusco’s center doesn’t resemble at all to other city centers I’ve seen before: Everything is very clean and prices are rather high. With Mario, Camille and Vincent, we decided to go to Machu Picchu the next morning...

Days 60 to 68 – Alone Again – thewhitespots

January 20, 2016. Days 60 to 68 – Alone Again. Did you already pass through customs? After the border, a surprise: Finally Tarmac again, what a pleasure! 15km later, I got in touch with head wind again, and the tarmac was gone too. At least I had a descent to do, but with those conditions, I couldn’t go fast. Although it was quite a step down, I had to pedal very hard to do 5km/h And after a few kilometers, I was completely exhausted again. One thought on “ Days 60 to 68 – Alone Again. Liked by 1 person.

September 27, 2015. September 27, 2015. Flight to Peru and first day cycling! My first day in South America. Wow! How exhausting, how satisfying. But let’s start with the beginning. Finally that was done as well and I could start opening my bags and set up my bicycle. It took me quite a while, and I hope I didn’t make any mistakes. But for now, it’s good =). After a while, I reached the coast. Traffic got fewer and fewer, and my legs got heavier and heavier. I still wanted to go on, doing at leas...4 tho...

January 27, 2016. Days 66 to 104 A cycling trip without cycling. This post will be about my time in Chile, during which I didn’t cycle a lot. Although it’s been a long time, not so much happened because I stayed put for so long. After my arrival in La Serena, I was quite happy. I found a very nice hostel, maybe the best hostel I’ve been to so far. It was clean, with bright colors, and nice interior square and a beautiful backyard. Looking down to the port of Valparaiso. Hostel Voyage, Valparaiso. Two day...
