Kismet meets Peggy Seeger | Jackie Singer
https://jackiesinger.wordpress.com/2013/12/19/kismet-meets-peggy-seeger
Words on rites of passage, creativity and living deeply through all seasons. A New Story for Halloween. Strong Like the Water →. Kismet meets Peggy Seeger. December 19, 2013. This year, the band I’ve played with for twelve years, Kismet, had an unexpected opportunity to work with Peggy Seeger, a musician whom publicists are fond of describing as a folk legend. We played together in a fund raiser for Pegasus Theatre last month, and the experience has left me feeling both honoured and affirmed. Working tog...

Slow Books – Melting Islands, Arctic Bears and the State of Publishing. June 8, 2015. And so I want to share Nicky’s own telling of that story – how the novel was deemed a ‘quiet book’ (i.e. not going to earn a load of cash for the publishers in a difficult financial climate) and how she decided to do something about it by sta...The first level of backing is...

Words on rites of passage, creativity and living deeply through all seasons. Kismet meets Peggy Seeger. Moon Time – a book whose time has come →. Strong Like the Water. March 25, 2014. What is an empowered woman like? I keep returning to this question and wondering. What is the nature of feminine power? Is it different from masculine power? Do we have any models? At a campsite next to a magnificent waterfall. Photo by Zane Licite. It was the element of water that spoke to me in reply. Photo by Zane Licite.

Words on rites of passage, creativity and living deeply through all seasons. Newer posts →. A New Story for Halloween. November 6, 2013. This Summer I went to the Museum of Witchcraft in Boscastle, Cornwall, ( http:/ www.museumofwitchcraft.com/. I offered to go in and tell a story to Penny’s class. After much inner debate, I decided to make up a kind of Hansel and Gretel / Crescent Moon Bear mash up, with apologies to Grimms and to Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Here it is, in brief. You mean the witch? I know&...

Words on rites of passage, creativity and living deeply through all seasons. Strong Like the Water. Slow Books – Melting Islands, Arctic Bears and the State of Publishing →. Moon Time – a book whose time has come. June 3, 2015. This week sees the publication of the second edition of a book by Lucy Pearce that’s close to my heart: Moon Time Harness the ever-changing energy of your menstrual cycle. About me – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/about
I Spy with My Inner Eye. I like to observe. I like art; I have been known to make art. I deeply dislike the separation that still exists in many people’s minds between people and nature, I’m even a bit uncomfortable with talking about being connected ‘with’ nature (it implies that separation) – instead I think that we. I think a lot about disability – particularly when I am ill, but not exclusively – and the dis-abling of people by the non-disabled world. Contact me: uninvisible71 at gmail.com. A way to ...

I Spy with My Inner Eye. Up Close and Personal at Park Hill. February 7, 2015. March 6, 2015. The Park Hill flats. Sit atop Park Hill, the slope to the east of Sheffield Station. I’ve always thought of them as Sheffield’s Byker estate. Sheffield artist Mandy Payne has made some beautiful paintings of the Park Hill flats. Poetically painting with aerosol on concrete she presents them in a way that highlights the astonishing beauty of this hard architecture. A private girls school. Thanks for sharing your ...

July 2015 – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/2015/07
I Spy with My Inner Eye. When the waiting ends. July 12, 2015. August 2, 2015. When the waiting ends. If you can really inhabit your bardo state – sit with the chaos, the uncertainty, the impatience that arise within it, and feel the spaciousness of it, you may find that at the end you emerge – it opens up – into a wild space, a place of almost infinite possibility where you will write new rules to live by. Things to go and see. A Sense of Place. How we make sense of where we are. What we carry with us.

August 2015 – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/2015/08
I Spy with My Inner Eye. Where is your Wildish Space? August 2, 2015. August 3, 2015. I went to Pomona Island. Yesterday, a wildish space in the centre of Manchester squeezed between the old docks on the Manchester Ship Canal. And the sliver of the Bridgewater Canal. I first became curious about it in my second month in Manchester, when B joined me in exploring and orienting myself in my new home, and we walked along the canals to Salford Quays. Police our relationships with the place and each other.

Archie is a lengthsman and through his work maintaining verges and ditches he discovered that drain covers are often worth a second or third look – and he’s not the only one who thinks so. Http:/ thinkingcowgirl.wordpress.com. But I think once it’s stopped being sticky it’s not only not a bad thing, it has creative potential – realised sweetly by Paula Morison. Jackie Singer | words on rites of passage, creativity and living deeply through all seasons
Words on rites of passage, creativity and living deeply through all seasons. Imagining the Divine . . . as a Woman? March 5, 2018. I wonder what images come to your mind when you think of the Divine. Who do you turn to when the going gets tough? To whom (if anyone) do you cast a prayer? Searching for other inspiration, I went to the Imagining the Divine. Exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum. I soon tired of reading the academic texts introducing each piece. This dry information seemed to miss the p...It wa...
