Who is the typical volunteer at Jackson House? A retired research chemist, a mother of six, or a school teacher who all sort clothes at the Thrift Shop. Doctors, nurses, attorneys, and electrical engineers make good peanut butter sandwiches, as well as wash dirty dishes, for the noon lunch program. Jackson House welcomes all volunteers! Programs are set up to interview each person in crisis, files are kept, and decisions are made based on needs and resources. Supportive counseling is offered to seek out and reduce factors contributing to the crisis. This is all provided with volunteers and donors.
