Anna Ephraim: Creatures of Darkness
http://annaephraim.blogspot.com/2007/06/creatures-of-darkness.html
Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Archive of solo exhibition, Creatures of Darkness. 2/141 Flinders Lane Melbourne. November 10 - December 3, 2006. Catalogue text by Mark Padgham. The gliders that grew wings through arms that they could fly? As we move ever away, one northern city of light turned to darkness for half an hour – a beautiful act of intention; an attempt to move back – but these creatures of darkness will stay, for a while, hidden, concealed, living. Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Ode to a cuttlefish. Acrylic on board, 2007. I am inspired by these beautiful creatures and their ability to change colour. Generally they use this colour change ability to stay camouflaged. Until its breeding time and then the males go all out in a spectacular display to attract a mate. Makes me think of them as the birds of paradise of the sea. Posted by Anna Ephraim. My word that is a lovely one. March 4, 2008 at 5:25 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
