Jamie Garrod: December 2014

http://jamiegarrod.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Kickin' it in Ushuaia. A very sad plane. No one was hurt which was a very good thing. You can see the baby little ship in the background. It was one of the boys birthdays so the first thing we explored were the bars of Ushuaia. What a tour that was. Two bars in total were visited. Next up we went to the local park by bike. Terra Del Fuego Paque Nacinales. Next we got our hike on. Big Beavers at Laguna Esmeralda! And here is the view. The next day we went for another adventure. A little closer to town...

Jamie Garrod: Patagonia Part 2: El Chalten

http://jamiegarrod.blogspot.com/2015/04/patagonia-part-2-el-chalten.html

Patagonia Part 2: El Chalten. The bus finally reached El Chalten at about 9pm and we began walking across town to start walking towards Laguna Capri which was half way to where we intended to camp. Reality had set in though when it was already dark as we reached the trailhead so we settled for the shortest option possible. Tenting at Laguna Capri. Walking towards Fitzroy was pretty cool. Always a spectacular view and the best bit is you could see where you wanted to be the whole time. The next day we wok...

Jamie Garrod: June 2015

http://jamiegarrod.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

I have been throwing the idea around for a few years now of starting my own business. For at least the last 5 years customers on tours that I have been taking have been asking, "So when will you start your own business? And I always replied with, "When I have some time up my sleeve." That time is now. The company is called New Zealand Mountain Biking. And will begin by specializing in North Island tours. That are fully guided and take small groups around the Central North Island. One two WOOP WOOP! What else can you say? I have heard that this Creek is one of the best day runs in California, and I concur. It has some rowdiness, it has sickness, and it goes and goes and goes! All manageable with a wicked first drop that gives you a perfect taste of what lies downstream. the goods! Me about to connect on Kimshew falls. pic - Jared. Sam - "hey bro does your deck ever pop? Me - "Na bro it's good as". Sam - "Sweet you can go first". Me - "one two, WOOP WOOP! And off I went. We also ca...

Laminar Adventures: Upper Bras Du Nord

http://flowadventures.blogspot.com/2011/06/upper-bras-du-nord.html

A Dash Hound Crew design. Monday, 6 June 2011. Upper Bras Du Nord. One of the bridges, and this was a good one. Where does it lead? Set me up in the eddie only a few meters above the 2nd drop of 3. With a quick splash to the face a set of down the tongue, stopped for a second in the hole and got pushed further right than I wanted, Luckily there were a few shallow rocks I grounded my self on so I could pull my self back to the middle and set up for the last drop - slide. Keep the flow team! After three mo...

Toni: March 2012

http://toni-george.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Just some photos of my cool as little duckling Killa. I found him at the bottom of the Abyss probably after being swept away from his mum. He was a New Zealand Scaup (Papango or Aythya novaeseelandiae. Which is a small diving duck endemic to NZ. Not afraid of anything. Thursday, March 15, 2012. Tiki Tour Final Installment - Toharoa Canyon. Bit of recreational couch burning. Mean view to wake up to camping at lake Mahinapua. Just follow the orange markers. Andy Duff Memorial Race.

Toni: April 2014

http://toni-george.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 18, 2014. Here is some photos from a very cool mish Pete convinced me to go on yesterday. After a bit of confusion and some conflicting beta we decided to just put on the river and see what was down there. Turns out Phil Mac hadn't paddled this river before and it could definitely become a new classic. Starts out like this. Then changes into this. Pete firing up 'deadweight' falls. Dan testing out the hole. Some synchronised water falling. Pete finding his way down 'Pete's Crack'.

Toni: June 2012

http://toni-george.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 22, 2012. Last week in the USA. Our last week in the United States of America we had run out of water to paddle on so we decided to try out a few other activities. We went skydiving and it was SICK! We spent a day wrecking havoc at a water park. We visited some granite waterfalls that you can slide down. We went to Reno River Festival. We broke some laws in Yosemite national park and we destroyed a large amount of paddling gear. Heres some photos. Jordie and Christy checking out the view.

Toni: July 2013

http://toni-george.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 2, 2013. New Zealand to Norway. The last 6 months have been pretty busy for me with a lot of work, a lot of play, quite a bit of global drift, and heaps of good times. I just noticed that I haven't written anything for ages so I thought I'd do a quick update of the last half year of my life. At home in Rotorua I had one of the best summers ever! So much better than previous rental experiences! Big ups to Enterprise rentals! Thanks Harmony and Nick for the hospitality! Probably the most exci...

Toni: September 2012

http://toni-george.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 1, 2012. After breaking my boat on the Myklebust we borrowed a mini gas powered heat gun from Jakub's Slovak friends and Benji did a neat job fixing the front of my kayak. We headed to the Myklebust again just to show Jakub's Slovak friends where the put in was and ended up doing two laps down the super fun race section. Great start to the day! A spot of plastic welding to start off the day. Benjamin Hjort, tea drinking extraordinaire! Rangi as on-river repair job. Jakub on the Valldo...

Toni: July 2012

http://toni-george.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 28, 2012. After the Sjoa Festival Benji was supposed to be heading down to Southern Norway but luckily his car had to go to the mechanics therefore grounding him in Sjoa for an extra three days. Jakub happened to have 3 days off work so the three of us went on a mini mission to paddle around Valldal and catch up with some of Jakub's Czech and Slovak friends. The view from our breakfast spot. Honza on one of the slides. Jakub stoked to be off work. Benji on yet another cool rapid. After a v...

jamiegarison | it started with a legacy

It started with a legacy. Throughout the day I’ve kept a running tab of everything that crosses my mind. Most of which are just single words that lead to greater ideas. Others are phrases or things I’ve heard that even still leave the mind trying to grasp the magnitude or emotions that are being felt on this day. It would take numerous post to mention everything in detail of what I thought today. So in short…. How many children lost their parents? Might have heard the keys thing at church :-)]. I wish I ...

Stuff I Like

A 22 year old college student writes about stuff that he likes. It's pretty simple, not eloquently titled, and as fun as an Andrew W.K. album. Thursday, March 19, 2009. Stuff I Like 000. Welcome to Stuff I Like. Here's the first post, entitled "000" because it's more of an introduction and preview than it is an actual post. So, who am I and why should you care? Tuesday, November 15, 2011. The Crucible - John Proctor? He is a character that is afraid to reveal his relationship with Abigail. Miller made him a scared kind of person. At the end he changes his statements and reveals the truth. this makes him an honest person and a person that confronts the people even though he will hurt himself in many ways. Posted by Saundra Yeates. Accidentally Got to a child page? Posted by Saundra Yeates. Is it okay to get a dental implant at the age of 18? A Paris themed party?

Antarctica - A Typical Voyage. The Ocean Nova docked at Ushuaia, AG. The Southern-Most town in the world nestled under Dientes De Navarino (the mountain range). Our first stop is again Puerto Williams, CL. This is where we officially get back to Chile and it's a good chance to stretch the legs and learn a little more of the history of this southern region of the world. Even the wind-swept Lenga trees are dressed nice and warm. The museum that opens just for us at 10pm. good sorts! When we wake up after c...

Jamie Garvie's 2009 Karting Season

Sunday, 15 February 2009. Running in the 09 engines. We got the engine run in, but it was a very difficult day for us, we were very late at the track, Clay Pigeon, due to flooding, and a crazy dad induced detour! First run with the superb looking Sodi ST-32, that was great, but . Engine 1) run in but poor revs. Engine 2) nipped up after 1 lap. Engine 3) half done. Back to the engine builder and more work to be done! Testing at Wilton Mill on Wednesday, and racing there this weekend. Engine on - Seat on.
