If you are a fan of high power class A single ended direct heated Triode, then you should take a look at this tube - 212. It has a plate dissipation of 275 Watts! Say if we go with 20% efficiency of class A Triode designs, we are looking at a staggering 50W output power! If you cannot find Western Electric or STC 212 tubes, worry not!

But a bit bright and lack of deep bass present to the system. So I think to replace almost PRP metal film resistors with other types. Like tantalum, carbon composite and thick film resistors. After finish assembly these amplifiers. I've found the problem with "Hiss" sound. And try to discover the main cause. Not from ground-loop or components but I missing "Grid Stopper". Raytheon 4-Pillar series have special design. That tube lovers want to keep in their collections. Red sticker of 4-Pillar was unique and always attractive. Less transparent when compare with mesh plate 210. But more impact and larger scale of music instruments. Collective item with awesome sound too ;).

Time that people excited with Marantz CD-63SE modification by replace stock components with better quality like ELNA Silmic, ELNA Cerafine, Nichicon Black Gate capacitors and Burr Brown OpAmps.
