http://jcbanglaindia.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-taj-mahal-indias-famous-fog.html
Jim and Connie to a Bangladeshi Wedding and beyond. Saturday, March 21, 2015. The Taj Mahal and India's Famous Fog. On the morning of January 17. We woke to more of this area’s “ famous fog.”. We had been warned that fog occurs during this time of year, but I was still impatient with it. We waited in Delhi until 10 am to give it a chance to break up, and then started toward Agra. I enjoyed the road trip a lot. And, their cabs were also decked out in fringes, bells or window decals. Ours must have worked.

Jim And Connie in South Africa: March 2012
http://jcafrica.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Jim And Connie in South Africa. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Riding in the bakkie. Isaak holds his upside down. After relaxing a bit, they toted us all out on the backs of trailers and pick-ups (remember what they are called here? Bakkies) to a beautiful swimming hole, complete with waterfall. Most of us quickly waded in. Sometimes holding them quite awkwardly. Ryan Fuchs, future pediatric doctor, got right in there to band their tails and their small testes. While Melissa - what can I say? Eleven of our y...

Jim And Connie in South Africa: Okavango Delta, Botswana
http://jcafrica.blogspot.com/2012/08/okavangoe-delta.html
Jim And Connie in South Africa. Friday, August 3, 2012. Okavango Delta, Botswana. We flew there in this airplane. John had the co-pilot seat. We chose the camp we did because it was considered more traditional. We stayed at Oddballs, one of the few base camps left that use all mokoros - dug-out canoes from tree trunks- as transport. We used the mokoros to go to and from various unpopulated islands where we camped and did daily walking safaris. John and Cheryl went on ahead. The Scoop on Poop. Victoria Fa...

Jim And Connie in South Africa: Blame it on the Full Moon
http://jcafrica.blogspot.com/2012/08/blame-it-on-full-moon.html
Jim And Connie in South Africa. Friday, August 3, 2012. Blame it on the Full Moon. While in Chobe, we became intimately acquainted with a pride of lions there. It was really interesting to watch just one pride - and see their habits for three days straight. We saw them asleep, on the prowl, and playing with each other. Jackal watching the lioness on the prowl. Maybe it's time for Chobe to reconsider.). Each mating lasts about 20 seconds. (Above is one of the more discreet photos. I also have a vi...Becau...

Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. Saturday, July 24, 2010. Beyond the End of the Road. And, he has yet to really see where we are. But, let me start at the beginning of the day. We leave Bishkek early in the morning, around 7:30 am We're all together in a fifteen person van, which sounds big, but it contains the driver, his wife, son, and daughter; the five of us; and Rysbek, Anara, her daughter and niece. All of our luggage (we brought too much! Is piled on several seats, so it is cozy! Jim and C...

Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan: Abilay Abilay
http://jcturkeykyrgyz.blogspot.com/2010/08/abilay-abilay.html
Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. Thursday, August 26, 2010. Our friend Kunduz has an unusual email name - abilayabilay. When we asked her about it, she answered that Abilay was her grandfather's name, with whom she is very close. Today, we were honored to meet him. But, first, the whole day:. Again, the hunters came back successful. Jim had shot four rabbits this time. The rabbits were taken, skinned, and cubed - and a slow-cooking potato and rabbit stew started. Posted by Jim and Connie.

Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan: "Best Trail Ride Ever"
http://jcturkeykyrgyz.blogspot.com/2010/07/best-trail-ride-ever_27.html
Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Best Trail Ride Ever". We round a bend and see a horseman with a dog, a flock of sheep. He rides up and pleasantries are exchanged with Rysbek and Askar. Around the next bend is a herd of horses. Again, hands are extended and grasped. Iskar, another farmer, comes riding by with his two dogs, his sheep. He crosses over the stream (leaving his flock on the other side) and sits with us and shares the meal of rabbit. We LOVE that he doe...A Wha...

Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan: Saddling Up
http://jcturkeykyrgyz.blogspot.com/2010/07/best-trail-ride-ever.html
Jim and Connie in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. The next morning, we arise to see for the first time where we really are. We are on a simple ranch, but nothing about the scenery is simple. In one direction, we see their grazing horses against a backdrop straight from a movie set, except it's real. In another direction, mountain flowers paint the ground with purples, yellows and blues. It is heart-stopping beautiful. We ultimately ride a 30 mile round trip over two days through mountainou...
