A Sane Israeli Perspective: Nasrallah, Prepare to Meet Your Maker
http://saneisraeli.blogspot.com/2006/08/nasrallah-prepare-to-meet-your-maker.html
Thursday, August 03, 2006. Nasrallah, Prepare to Meet Your Maker. But there is something that we are very good at. Its the clean, precision warfare that inspires hollywood filmmakers. April 16, 1988: Khalil Al-Wazir (a.k.a Abu Jihad), second in command of the PLO, is shot at close range in his home in Tunis at 2am, along with his bodyguards. His wife and children, present during the operation, were not harmed. The shooters quietly disappear into the darkness of the night. Dear Nasrallah. You are inde...

A Sane Israeli Perspective: The Third Compromise
http://saneisraeli.blogspot.com/2006/08/third-compromise.html
Thursday, August 03, 2006. Recognition of Israel was the first compromise made by the Arabs towards a resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. The second compromise is the Israeli compromise: the realization that the Palestinian problem will not go away by itself simply because we are stronger, and the willingness to pay a price for peace. Second, the Palestinians must revisit their naive and romantic perception of the so-called "Right of Return". Palestinian refugees who carry keys to their pre-1948...

A Sane Israeli Perspective: The good guys always win
http://saneisraeli.blogspot.com/2006/08/good-guys-always-win.html
Tuesday, August 08, 2006. The good guys always win. Former Israeli PM Ehud Barak once said that had he been a Palestinian he'd have become a militant - what we often call a terrorist. This brave comment exemplifies how the political left in Israel (myself included) reasons about Palestinian actions, and in particular acts of terrorism and the two Intifadahs: by trying to put ourselves in their shoes. Is it more or less horrible to bomb buses, restaurants, and shopping malls? What crosses their mind?

A Sane Israeli Perspective: It boils down to this: can Israel, or can't it, defeat Hizbullah
http://saneisraeli.blogspot.com/2006/08/it-boils-down-to-this-can-israel-or.html
Wednesday, August 02, 2006. It boils down to this: can Israel, or can't it, defeat Hizbullah. I have been thinking a lot about whether this war is justified. So, the fact that civilians will get hurt should be a reason against, but cannot be a deal breaker in the decision to launch the war. May a long, lasting, loving peace come upon this region in our times. Posted by Elon at 11:48 PM. If anyone is interested in how it feels for civilians in Beirut city today please read:. What peace with Syria? Now, wh...

Israeli Mom: November 2007
http://israelimom.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Blogging about life in Israel. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. This time from the Carmel Mt. and Golan Heights. Not easy to take good pictures of a rainbow! Trust me, it was very impressive. We were standing on the roof of the Monastery, which is a great observation point, from which you can see all the way to Nazareth, Haifa and more, if the visibility is good. It was a rainy day though, but as you can see, Dan was making the most of it! Congratulations, Sweetie, you're growing up! The "movie" depicts par...

Blogging about life in Israel. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. In between Holidays and Memorial Days. I swear, there's not a week without some festivity, holiday or memorial day in this country. The long Passover vacation has finally ended, whew! And even managed to have some fun with the kids too. I have quite a bunch of pictures to post too, and will start with that today. Ok, I mentioned Passover pictures, so I'll start with the first batch of pictures from the Seder itself -. Good thing it's the central Sed...

Blogging about life in Israel. Saturday, June 30, 2007. Long Days of Summer. Putting politics aside for a while. It's almost too hot to think this week. We try to stay indoors (where it's air conditioned) but life requires us to leave the house every now and again, sigh. Actually, IsraeliDad and myself stick to our workout routine quite well, I think! It's alternating between gym practice and the swimming pool still! Sun, sea and fun. Enjoy summertime everyone! Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Too many of them ...

The next day we took the kids to the...
