Building our Palermo with Ryan Homes. A blog about our experiences building our first home with Ryan Homes. Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Obviously this blog has not been a priority lately - we have gotten wrapped up with unpacking, settling in and getting a summer routine going. I have plenty to share now that we have been in the house a few months. I feel like the house is well constructed. The quality of materials is good, the workmanship is decent (more on that later) and the neighborhood is great. I kno...

First time home buyer, building from the ground up with Ryan Homes. Friday, February 22, 2013. Rate Locked, Door Locked, and Now We Wait! The past couple of months have been so stressful but it seems it's finally coming to an end. A little upset about the late loan application but hey, as long as the deal is sealed I am OK. I also had some pretty deep scratches in my foyer hardwood that will have to be replaced. PM is on it. Kudos to him. I'll upload pics when I'm officially closed. :). I third Ms motion!

http://myfirstpalermo.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
First time home buyer, building from the ground up with Ryan Homes. Wednesday, January 23, 2013. I Got Called to The Office. Not really, but it felt like it. I got a call that some of the things that I posted on the blog, that were giving me heartburn, were bought to my PM's attention. A little awkward but I guess its only fair, RH is really looking out for their reputation. Nonetheless, I feel a lot better today. Everything I pointed out was addressed and will be taken care of. Castle Full of Kings - Building a Florence with Ryan Homes: The Wrath of Sandy
http://castlefullofkings.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-wrath-of-sandy.html
Oct 30, 2012. The Wrath of Sandy. I'm kind of sick to my stomach looking at the pictures Joe sent to me. What really concerns me is the potential problems we could run into later. We currently have about 4" to 6" of standing water in our basement. There is a window floating in the water. It really is a shame they couldn't get the sump pump in before Sandy hit. What about the wood? The rain isn't supposed to stop until Friday. Will this cause damage that won't show up until later? I hope youre house made ...

First time home buyer, building from the ground up with Ryan Homes. Friday, November 30, 2012. Tried my best not to visit until the weekend but as I drove by the highway exit towards the build, I could not resist. Here's what I found:. I can't understand why this part is so open. I do have a walk out basement, but I've compared this to other blogs with walks outs and none are this open. Any thoughts? Dont laugh, I know, I'm totally clueless! Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Day 10: It's going down, Basement!
