With a Twist of Life. Minding the Gap: London 2012. Chicago 2011 wasn’t my day. I caught a bad cold/sinus infection 2 days before the race coupled with business travel to Vegas on the way and warm temperatures did not equal a PR. But I did it, and ran my second fastest marathon. It was go time. At this point we were on the Isle of Dogs (Canary Wharf and Canada Water areas) with a lot of turns. Around mile 15-16, I had a brief thought about how hard marathoning is and wondering how I had forgotten tha...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Goodbye Rogue, Community that I Love. August 21, 2015. I remember the day. Well: July 20th 2006. I was sitting in a small dormitory in Wilmington DE, where I lived for the summer, watching the Tour de France. Stage 17 was a critical day. An epic day really. Needless to say, I was motivated. Unfortunately, (comically, maybe) we now know that performance was pharmacologically aided. At the time though, it didn’t matter, I was motivated. I grew up running&...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. 2016: The Year of Fast. January 18, 2016. It’s the day after the Houston Marathon, and I sit here more inspired than ever to be a runner and coach in this family we call Rogue. I couldn’t think of a better way to start 2016. In the wake of recent IAAF doping and corruption scandals, I have more or less discarded my trust in the sport at the highest levels. And began training with Carolyn’s group in north Austin, the Northside Runaways.

Running, training, living. Looks like training is back to something I can sustain regularly. Looking back post Boston Marathon the weekly average mileage has been 60 miles/week. Three and half months till CIM so still a long way to go. It’s been good get back into a regular running habit again, helps with Asia being there to make sure I don’t sleep in the mornings or slack off with the gym work. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Audrey Elizabeth, you turn three years old! It's hard to believe how fast time flies and how much you have changed. Each year I look at your pictures and think oh my goodness, she's not little Audrey anymore. This year for your birthday, you asked to get your ears pierced. Mommy, Daddy, sisters and Nana took you to sweet and sassy (which describes you perfectly! To get your ears pierced. It was quite a drive but worth it! We had 50 Rogues in Boston and 27 personal friends/teammates that I had been tracking. Were they safe? What about their families? How could someone intentionally do such a thing? We anxiously awaited news that everyone was okay. Finally some good news, they (and their family members) were. For our non-runner friends, the Boston Marathon. In April 2012, I lined up in London.
