My online painting and drawing journal. Sunday, February 22, 2015. For the love of dogs". I started drawing the Westminster dog show last week.then winter got in the way. I picked it up to work on it today between other stuff, but it had been awhile. I think that cute French Bulldog with the polka dots should have won. Dog drawing so donated to Best Friends Animal Society whose mission is to save them all. Https:/ www.facebook.com/bestfriendsanimalsociety. Oh, yay for you! I support Best Friends too.
Jennifer Lawson: Doodle dogs...everywhere...
http://jenniferlawson.blogspot.com/2015/08/doodle-dogseverywhere.html
My online painting and drawing journal. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Stopped in at Scratch for coffee and a bagel on my way back from my run on the beach. There were "doodles" of every shape and size bounding up and down the beach in "doodle dog heaven". A beautiful summer day in Maine and I am inside working. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jennifer Lawson: Every Day in May #20—my wallet
http://jenniferlawson.blogspot.com/2015/05/every-day-in-may-20my-wallet.html
My online painting and drawing journal. Friday, May 22, 2015. Every Day in May #20—my wallet. I decided to buy a bird feeder a few days ago not knowing I would end up feeding the neighborhood. So many beautiful colorful birds, fascinating to watch and they are very hungry. I realized I was filling the feeder every other day so now a 40 pound bag of bird seed is taking up valuable closet space. Several days behind, again. Love this one and so happy to see I am not alone with feeding the birds.

My online painting and drawing journal. Friday, May 15, 2015. Every Day in May #9, #11 and #13. Every Day in May #13—The last thing I bought. Beautiful bracelets handmade in Maine by "The Ropes". Colorful and fun to wear especially with my grandmother's gold chain bracelet. Each piece is made from elements of the working waterfront—authentic marine ropes, dock line and hardware. I love them! EdiM #9: Reading Log. I keep saying I've done the last illustration for Teen Summer Reading, and then I realize there's just one more… I started getting my teen volunteers mobilized to label and stuff the "swag bags" we give away when we register the teens, and realized that the one thing I forgot to design and print to go in them is the Reading Log. Some came out well, and some not so much (there is a lot of Photoshop Elements retouching of little skinny letters here! I'm going to call this my EdiM #9, ...

Every day in whatever month this is. I dropped the ball with Every Day in May because of the painting for Daryl, but then discovered Every Day in June. So I've been giving those a shot, rather sporadically. I haven't shared anything here lately, so here are a few in a row:. Shell game"—because I'm feeling snail-like in my progress! Music"—another view of the jukebox. Clean sweep"—a quick 5-minute sketch while waiting at the car dealership. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Impressions of Italy: Pigeons. 19 Jun...
slipcover: One simple, one fussy
http://theslipcover.blogspot.com/2015/07/one-simple-one-fussy.html
One simple, one fussy. Sunday's prompt was "fall." People interpreted it in various ways- everything from sky-diving out of a plane to autumn foliage, and even the "fall" of Adam and Eve. (! I wasn't sure what to choose, but I haven't drawn any book illustrations lately, so I searched Goodreads for books with the word "fall" in the title and was reminded of this new one from Ally Carter, the first of a new series set on "Embassy Row" in London. I liked her book Heist Society. 9x9, LePen and watercolor.

I have never been an on-location (en plein air) painter. Most of my work is done on the table inside my screened-in back patio, and on the rare occasion I have drawn something on location, I always bring the drawing back to the house and paint it afterwards. But all the fabulous pictures being posted by everyone who went to the Urban Sketchers Symposium. Is the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on the corner of Moorpark and Lankershim. My intention was to do a Nina Johansson. Style panorama of the ent...

The evening of the day I finished the drawing, I couldn't resist going in with a few washes and colors, working for about an hour more, and then went to bed. Boy, was I sorry the next morning, when I saw that the color choices that looked good in low artificial light were not quite the right tints in the light of day! Season 2 for the evening. My first idea was a plain smooth wash of some neutral color, but then I thought, it's Steampunk, it's Victorian, why not do something daring? I consulted a few art...
Clem's Art Studio: Mayan Inspiration
http://clemsartstudio.blogspot.com/2015/02/mayan-inspiration.html
About Art, Italy and me. Feb 4, 2015. Speaking of inspiration in my last post made me think of some paintings i've made, taking inspiration from the Mayan glyphs which i'm completely in love with! Well, of course i'm not studying anthropology here, so my "glyphs" are just greatly inspired by the real fantastic Mayan glyphs, but they aren't really Mayan themselves! These ones have been made on watercolor paper, with watercolors and pastels. Posted by Clem J. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://theslipcover.blogspot.com/2015/07/13-july-stones.html
Every Day in July. S challenge today was " stones. My mind immediately went to stepping stones, so I went looking for a photo that was as close as I could get to what I was picturing in my head; I have trouble drawing just from imagination, and need something concrete to step off from, pun intended. I documented this one in three stages: drawing, partial painting, finished painting. Here is the drawing:. And here is the partial painting:. July 14, 2015 at 11:34 AM. Drawing Breath: October 2014
http://barbaraweeks.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 18, 2014. To Costco, To Costco…. 169; Barbara Weeks. Most people go to Costco to shop. I go to snack my way around the place and then sketch while my husband shops. I also count my blessings! Links to this post. Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Nutmeg © Barbara Weeks. This is a sketch of our much-missed cat, Nutmeg. You may remember it from an older post but it's one of my favorite line drawings. I used it in my Tuesday Tips and Tricks. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts ( Atom ).

My online painting and drawing journal. Thursday, November 3, 2016. A few things I learned from. In life there are good days and not such good days. The same is true in art, but when you commit to a drawing everyday there is no time for wallowing around in “inky self pity” because tomorrow is another day…and it could be awesome. Community—the amazing fellowship with others of sharing interests and goals and great art! Thank you #inktober You were a very special gift. See you next year! Yesterday, I spont...
