As excited as I am to be — slowly, tentatively — back in the kitchen, I seem to be stuck at the beginning, or at least the beginning of the day. I’m fixated on granola. This crisp is supposed to be the fall answer to my beloved breakfast apricot crisp. And Meatballs and Spaghetti. And Butternut Squash and Caramelized Onion Galette. 2 tablespoons lemon juice.

Regensburg here we come. Sunday, 2 January 2011. How exciting is that! Then, only a couple of weeks after the excitement and present-showering of Max's birthday. That evening, we hung out Max's beautifully hand-made, personalised Santa sack and put out a biscuit, cup of milk and, of course, a carrot for Rudolph. Max is too young to be overwhelmed by the excitement of anticipation yet but he was certainly intrigued by the whole process. Then, the next morning.Father Christmas had been! Well, hey there!

Regensburg here we come. Thursday, 1 April 2010. Confessions of a Mum. I hope and pretty much suspect that I am not the only one who feels like this. But sometimes I really do want to trade my son in for another model. OK, I understand he has just been poorly. But, as far as I can see he is now better.
