A Peace Corps Story. I love getting snail mail and care packages. A little bit of home helps volunteers feel connected to their own culture. If you feel inclined to send me a little bit of US love, here are some ideas of things that will either be useful or comforting to me in my little house in the Kops. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Mail takes about 3 weeks to get to me. The US Postal Service has flat rate boxes that don’t charge based on weight. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A Peace Corps Story. I’m at a strange place in my service now. The point between COS conference and actually leaving site is a matter of wrapping up responsibilities and weaning your community off your assistance. I’m doing my best to hand things off and write reports for my successor, but I find myself in a detached place. My mind and energy is on the next step, ready for my move. One thought on “ Staying. A Peace Corps Story. The music was metal in the growling classic sense, echoing old US bands. The event is still in its infancy, with this being the third annual. Maybe the popularity will grow. I don’t know if I’ll make the trip next year, but I’m glad I went once. It was a memorable weekend, if not the least bit premeditated. One thought on “ Metal. January 7, 2014 at 08:32. There is definately a lot to find out about this. Subject. I really like all the points you have made. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A Peace Corps Story. In a matter of a week, my life has completely transformed. I am now a resident of the “big” city, Gaborone. Grocery stores are mere walks away, restaurants and movie theatres abound (sort of), and I can often find access to good internet. I also had visitors for my farewell party! I love having people see where I lived in the bush – it’s hard to appreciate that rustic lifestyle unless you live it. Since I have moved, I have been busy settling in. I finally found a place to live &...

Chronicles of my Peace Corps journey. wherever it leads me. Saturday, May 14, 2011. The Worth of a Mosetsana (Motswana girl). On Thursday, we went to a wedding. Actually, it wasn’t a wedding, but rather the exchange of the lebola (bride price). Jeremiah and the Humans. Just another WordPress.com weblog. On December 20, 2010 at 7:12 am Leave a Comment. Before the Cutting of the Cake. Dad danced with his daughter. With no horror of hating his daughters mate. Or no wondering if things were going to work out. Stevie sang and played like he has for a thousand weddings. And I looked on and smiled. And cried inside for a while. That one day that’d be you. Dancing with your new father. And he’d have his new daughter,. And watching your green eyes shiver.
