Kenyan baptist theologicial college. 8220;We will be there at 9am. Be ready”. We had been invited to tour the Kenyan Baptist Theological College. Meet with the principal and staff. To say the little lights aren’t twinkling would be the understatement of the year! But then I read this today :. And then I cried. It’s just dumb} on Christmas eve, and the insane amount of guilt that comes with forgetting to move that dang creepy Elf. But the reasons around not having time? Wilhelm picked us up at 9am. I was dressed in my “mission trip clothes” and had my game face on. Today was going to be the day that I fell in love with Kenya. It didn’t happen. Wilhelm took us to The Junction {Nairobi’s version of a mall}. We had to walk through security just to get in the door. My heart was prepared for dirt floors.

Monday, April 25, 2011. Laine is 15 months old and I think this is my favorite time so far. She is learning so much right now, it seems like it is something new everyday. She makes me laugh every day and I know I'm a little biased but I think she is the cutest and funniest girl! She "reads" to herself. She gibber gabbers alot! She'll end up eating baby food about once a week, usually at school if she doesn't like what they are serving. She only drinks from a sippy cup. She weighs about 22 lbs. She's talking more. Saturday, December 25, 2010. Laine is 11 months old today (on Christmas Day). It's hard to believe we'll be having her first birthday party next month! She has had a big month! She's been taking steps since before Thanksgiving but is officially walking as of mid-December. Her other top front tooth is in so she has a total of 4 now. She's got another on top, that's going to come through soon. Started eating more table food. She eats cheese, yogurt, peas, mashed potatoes, turkey (sometimes), and bread,.

I visited a friend in Kilifi last year, a small coastal town, lovely in all ways with clean white beaches and friendly tuk tuk drivers. We went to the market to shop for dinner and found this bare – chested old lady, possibly in her nineties, selling vegetables and coconuts. Nothing in her demeanor suggested shame or indecency.
